Tom Crean Chews Out Michigan Assistant After Win

  • Am I in a parralel universe? I log onto the rcmb to see folks butt hurt about a UofM loss and all this hate for Tom Crean?

    I don't think anyone is necessarily denying that he's a great coach and recruiter. He learned from the best and is all class with things regarding Izzo and MSU.

    It was just in poor taste the way he handled it. Embarrassing for him and the team IMO. Your kids just won the B10 outright with an incredible comeback. It should be their moment, don't spoil the celebration for them and your school by acting like a 17 year old girl.

    Crean's better than that. Plain and simple.

  • Crean has simply turned into Jim Harbaugh. He is now just a more amped up version of what he's always been. Part of the deal with him. Manic, intense, and he does not care who he pisses off. Funny that he stole Bo's The Team nonsense, and funnier still that Harbaugh is often behind the bench at Assembly Hall. The B1G better get used to Crean, he isn't going away.

    I'm with you. Meyer was a cheater at IU and Crean called him out for it. Crean also has called out the Big Ten for not being consistent in how it does its players of the weak.

    I don't like how Crean seems to instruct his players to fake injuries, but I have no problem with the other stuff.

  • I think there's something off putting about winning the outright Big 10 and immediately rubbing it in the face of one of Sampson's former assistants. Is Meyer a snake? Yes. That wasn't the time and place to do that, though.

  • There is a right and wrong way to handle known cheats. Do what Crean did and publicly call them out or what Izzo has done and spend the next 20 years dismantling the offending program to the point that "They don't wanna play basketball no mo".

It's not that big of deal but it does seem kinda low class and vindictive. I used to like Crean but I'm slowly turning the other way on him. Your players seem to do just fine letting their play do the talking... all this other stuff is just stupid.
