SyFy’s ‘Ghost Hunters’ on Mackinac Island Wednesday - Midland Daily News: Verge

SyFy Channel's popular crew spent two nights in the dark on Mackinac Island calling out the ghosts that locals and paranormal investigators say live at a popular resort.

  • Ghost Hunters is crap compared to Ghost Adventures. Though the GA crew is getting a little to "artistic" in their set-ups. They need to go back to their roots and just show me the Adventures part.

This country was built by people who worked hard then went home and had just a few too many every night. Then went back to work.

I don't know how people can watch Ghost Adventures. The main guy on there is almost a cartoon he's so enthusiastic.

No, but they spend a lot of time picking up horse shit.

A dinging bike bell isn't nearly as scary as clanking chains.

It's not enough to bash in heads, you have to bash in minds.

  • They're allegedly coming to Detroit to do a show in the near future. One of the guys who works at a local restaurant where they'll be filming told me. shrug

    ...and buy fudge?

  • I watched it last night, it was kind of a fun and interesting one. The one guy is a major pussy though, because he was too scared to take a stupid plane off the island.

so I watched a little bit of it.. as much as I could tolerate (I believe in ghosts about as much as I believe in jesus, the easter bunny, the tooth fairy.. you get the idea..)..

and apparently the one dude that was staying at the hotel killed himself.. and so they were there saying things like "we had no idea what was going on with you..." or.. "just show yourself to us.. we're so sorry for what happened"..

and I looked at my wife and said "I think they should just leave the f**king guy alone.. he probably killed himself, 'cause people were nagging him all the time"..

Maybe he smoked too much weed and read too much Kierkegaard and decided... what's the point?

Now he's wandering around the Island wondering "Why does this horse shit not get stuck to my shoes anymore?".

    Don't post poop!

  • I'm a regular watcher of the show and have learned a lot about paranormal stuff plus the locations they go to, history, etc. Glad to see them on the Island in the winter, when it is quiet, but very cold and snowy. Mission Point seems to be quite the place. I didn't know it was the former college. They did pretty well under the circumstances and it was neat that the manager of the place went to R.I. to see the results. A flying phobia, like many others, can be a debilitating condition that Steve has. He should get some therapyies hat are available.

"Hey little girl...we have some candy!"

    Do ghosts eat candy?

I like how they added the sound effect of the light clicking on though...or was that real? panic

I love how the camera guys mess with them by dropping stuff, opening doors, and yelling out "Wooooooooop".

"It sounds like somebody is walking, but it stops when we stop".

rumor (That would be the camera crew following you around)

I bet none of the drunk Islanders came up there to mess with them either. sarcasm

  • I'll tell you the real problem with Mission Point....they got no damn TV's in the rooms. That is info I need before I arrive. And for the record, I didn't want to go but I attend a conference there each year. That island sucks.

Then you should have just hopped in your car and left.

100% agreed. Zach at least makes the show entertaining. Grant and the fat fuck from ghost hunters are boring as shit, nothing interesting ever happens and they just plain suck. Zach even lived in the detroit area for awhile.
