Green mentioned on multiple occasions that he's been close friends with Jordan Dumars since high school. He's also good friends with Sullinger, who is basically family with the Burkes.
Lot of these guys are friends with each other, regardless of any rivalry. Lucas and Summers were close with Manny Harris, for example.

Yes, but I'm not a collegiate athlete on a full ride scholarship. Just because I did it (and many others do) doesn't make it right for Burke to be illegally in a club and possibly drinking under age. Athletes are set to a higher standard than the plebs of the world. If this was a current MSU player it would be all over the Freep right now.

You know that last part sounds crazy, but it's true. If this was Gary Harris in the club underaged with a bunch of Michigan guys, this would have made the Free Press, there is zero doubt of this. Just like MSU Football players tweeting about The Bama Michigan game got turned into a National Story by the Detroit Newspapers when the tweets from scUM players after last year's B1G title game and Trey Burke's tweets about MSU losing to Miami early this season garnered no coverage.
The kid was out having some fun. It's not like he's a real student at Michigan anyways, he's going to get drafted to the NBA in a few months. But, he's still underaged to be at that place.
