Trip to Niagara Falls, yea or nay?

If casinos and Ripley's Believe It Or Not museums are your idea of a good time, by all means, go to Niagara Falls instead. If Niagara Falls is Las Vegas, Niagara-on-the-Lake is more of a family or upscale area, like the Hamptons. Course N-o-t-L is close enough to the falls that you could stay there and spend a day at the falls.

Just giving you a hard time. Niagara on the Lake is more my cup of tea too. I'm to the age now that i prefer soup before my meals. Getting to 40 sucks.

Have you stayed at The Harbour House ? That is a good one also.

No, all the times I've stayed in the town, I stayed in Fort George. I've been thinking for a while though that it would be a fun weekend getaway with the fam.

  • Took an impromptu trip to Niagara on the way back from Toronto once and I was floored by how many wineries there were on the way. I really want to go back sometime and figure out some way to get somebody to cart me around to a dozen or so.

Dont listen to most of these dolts.

The falls are one of the wonders of the world, tourist traps in the area or not. I could sit on the Canadian side for hours just looking at the beauty of the falls . Maid of the Mist boat trip is fun as well. Falls are especially pretty at night with the different lights shining on them. Have a good time!!! and ignore most of these dweebs who havent been further than the local playground.

THIS. I lived in Buffalo for a year, and went up there multiple times. After seeing the American side once (or more correctly not seeing anything interesting on the American side) we always went into Canada. You can get within 30-40 feet of the water, immediately over where the water Falls. Mesmerizing. I can stand at that rail for a long time, always longer than anyone else I went with. Not to be missed, if you're making the trip.

You may do a lot of other things, but do NOT miss the opportunity to be that close to the actual water.
