Dont look at what prices are the day of the game. Sure there were some WS tickets that went for face but we dont own any bad tickets. Look at what prices were going for when we first closed out NY and the next 5 days. We also own a suite at Comerica.

Regarding MSU basketball, that is one of the easiest things we do. Sure the first 1/2 of the season is garbage and we lose money on every game but the tickets are so cheap that it is easy to get your money back on 4-5 Big 10 game and then the rest is profit. Of course this does not consider employees, rent etc...

This year could be tough for MSU because the only B10 game worth anything on a weekend is OSU. The weekday IU and UM games will crush prices.

Which MSU football games this year have you actually made money on?

I would assume every game except EMU and possibly Iowa due to weather--although it was homecoming and many people may have bought tickets ahead of time.

Look, if you buy family plan season tickets (lower endzones), it costs roughly $300 per ticket including the required donation. That is seven games, totaling roughly $45 per game. Face value, alone, for BSU, ND, OSU, Iowa and Nebraska was $80.

Based on demand, especially for BSU, ND and OSU, he could have easily got $100 or more per ticket, per game. Those three games alone would pay for the season ticket package. Then, anything sold beyond that would be profit. Even if he only sells the remaining games for $100--which is pretty conservative--he is looking at a 33% ROI. And those aren't even premium seats.

I thought they did away with "family plan".

Yeah, you're right. I forgot about that. But the point remains, those tickets are $333 with the $25 donation. So $47 dollars a game.

  • Seems as though trcmb may have finally figured out the economics on being a ticket broker, lol.

The guy doesn't just buy low and sell (very) high , all day... He has to take losses and risk capital--- Duh.

Too easy to take pot shots at the high (market driven) prices for premium events.
