He got probation for the DUI.

He violated his probation, before this.

  • The good news is, shoelaces can easily hit the broadside of a barn now, so it really doesn't matter who he's throwing to.

  • This has been in the Hoked thread for hours now.

Seems the logical place to look for a Hoked victim too, like tSearchfunction.

I bet that Ass Bag Bill "HUGE" SImonson is going to cite a half dozen MSU "arrests" when he talks about this one.

Yes, and he and mitch albom will make excuses when stonum is reinstated. This is why I don't listen to them.

    Also, because they suck.

He can have fun throwing to Roy Roundtree and..........well.....oh yeah, Darryl Stonum. Barring any legal actions i'm sure he'll be back by the fall.

While his buddy Kelly has people dying at practice and gets a free pass.

  • DUI it is.

Again. Two DUIs indicates that he's not just a dumbass, but actively endangering others without realizing that he is.

  • Anybody else see this as a good recruiting tool for a certain scUM wide receiver recruit?

Edit: I meant as a tool for Hoke to sell potential potential playing time.

"When Stonum was a freshman in the fall of 2008, he was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. Rodriguez sat him out for one game and didn't start him in the next game. Stonum was sentenced in April 2009 to a year of probation for driving while impaired. He ended up in the Washtenaw County jail from June 4-7 last year because he didn't provide random preliminary breath tests, failed to complete a 10-day work program and didn't report to his probation officer."

Wow. If this were an MSU player, the media would be blowing up. I haven't even heard about this.

They reported it on Ch 4. I know a big ass blue wall does exist in Detroit, but this isn't an incident of that.

Also, I don't read any blue balls, er boards, so I don't know how they are reacting, but I can only imagine.

I know SCumers blew the fuck up over the CL Rucker incident and it would be laughable if they think a 3rd time offender like Stonum is fine.

I am going to take a risk and sound like an ummie slappy.

Don't be surprised to see Stonum to get his walking papers and be used as an example by Hoke. With rr at the helm Stonum was critical to their offense. With Hoke, who everyone expects to be coaching a team that runs the ball much more playing power football, Stonum isn't key to anything.

I just see this as too much of a gimme for Hoke AND Brandon to pass on so they will use Stonum as a PR opportunity.

Not likely. Hoke has his own interests to protect, re: his job. The little bit of talent he does have, he is going to work to keep it.

Its going to be tough to keep him on the team from jail. I don't know how he didn't get more than a few days for missing 9 Random PBTs. Hell in W. Bloomfield you ger jail time for a first offense and go back to jail for 1 missed PBT. For a second he would be looking at at least 90 days out of 180. Plus he loses his liscemse for at least a year. They must not prosecute DUIs very stricly in Washtnaw county. Of course we will see what they do with Jalen Rose in W. Bloomfield.

Can't wait to hear the Walverine excuses on this one.

I went nuts about this last year as the Michigan fans ripped Dantonio for his handling of Rucker...STONUM SAT ONE GAME!!!! And now he's at it again. But Huge and the rest of the idiot Michigan fans will just sweep it under the rug.

    DrTre11

  • From the Freep article:

“Darryl made a poor decision that is unacceptable and won't be tolerated. He will be disciplined for behavior that is unbecoming of a Michigan football player. This is a serious situation, we are disappointed, and any athletic department discipline will be handled internally.

“We will provide the appropriate support and counseling in order for him to learn and grow from this mistake. Darryl has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities. If he fulfills all of the commitments he has to the legal system and our program, we will make a determination regarding his return to the team.”

Man, that sounds exactly like how Dantonio has handled disciplinary issues with all players in legal trouble.

  • Kind of like the rape case where the football player kept bringing home women for his room mate to assault. Did they tell who the idiot was, I mean it was only about 5 or 6 women. Now this, it must be one hell of a big rug they have over there.

I'm pretty sure you're talking about Mike Martin, and its pretty clear he had no idea that was going on and happens to be one of the witnesses testifying against his roommate. Stonum needs to be booted though, 2 DUIs is just retarded.

  • Ventured over to mgoblog to see the reaction - that place has really gone downhill in the last few years... what a wasteland.

Dantonio really is in their head. The flip-flop on "discipline" is hilarious.

The main author even claimed that UM backed off recruiting Dion Sims because of his laptop involvement. right That smells like typical Wolverine revisionist history.

Also, UM never hired RR, and just took a 3 year hiatus from FBS football for the last three years to give us a chance to catch up to them lol

I don't know about a PR opportunity... Like Floyd, Stonum needs to get himself together.
