not trying to be a smart ass as I respect Michigan State and Dantonio. That being said, the Big Ten, as a whole, needs to step it up. They need to start paying coaches what they pay the SEC coaches. They need to invest in their football programs, etc. The Big Ten schools are too passive and don't SELL what they have to offer well enough. IMO
There is no reason players shouldn't go to a school like Michigan State over Ole' Miss. Come on. I don't think Urban is trying to be a prick. I think he would just like to see the Big Ten return to prominence. What is wrong with that? He's one of the best recruiters in the country. If I'm a big ten coach and he wants to give my program some pointers, I'm not kicking him out the door.

MSU, Iowa and Wisconsin are sucking off the tits of tOSU and scUM and it needs to stop for the good of the B1G. If it doesn't, don't be surprised to see tOSU and scUM leave for another conference together. Staying competitive and relevant on a national level will require it.

Okay, I'm just going to lay it out here. The reason MSU and other B1G schools are low in recruiting are these:
1) no compelling reason to go there 2) little or lack of tradition 3) a not-so-big name head coach 4) little or lack of winning tradition 5) cold weather climate (even OSU has to overcome this) 6) athletic department and money: The BiG doesn't spend to keep up with the big schools (not the school's fault, just a matter of economics) just for fun, look up ... wait "LMGTFY": http://bit.ly/14WqDZ1 click on that and see what I mean. Ohio State, for example, spends about $40 Million per year more than MSU with zero subsidies, meaning no funding from the state, etc. That is "per year". I am not gloating, I am simply pointing out that that kind of money builds better facilities and hires big name coaches. Oh yes, you probably thinnk that extra $40 million is paid to the players, I'm sure. Get over it. Not everyone cheats. Neither does Meyer. 7) at the end of the day, winning breeds success on the field and off (recruiting). This year WAS MSU's year to take the B1G and you blew it. You let Wisky have it and I hate those fuckers. I at least LIKE MSU!! And Dantonio!! Don't blame the refs. You blew it.

Who isnt? It isnt illegal, he likes the kids talent, is he not alllowed to recruit him because of some BS gentlenans agreement? We had other schools try to flip 4.of our guys before NSD, it doesnt just happen to MSU.

Let Ohio State and Michigan go with USC, Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, LSU, Florida State, Virginia Tech, etc., and form the NCAA champions league because there's no point in having schools like MSU even having football teams. Scrap the program! We not worthy!
The buckeye guy said OSU doesn't cheat but weren't they just banned for cheating? Lol

Okay, I read 4 pages of this and had some laughs. (Thanks for that.) However, now I want to give you my two cents.
1) Meyer doesn't give a damn about the B1G or any other school within the B1G (nor should he or anyone else)...other than the fact they are (or soon will be) anchors around OSU's neck (in terms of CFB). Make no mistake, he won't be happy until the conf. officially changes it's name to "OSU & Little 11."
2) Stop whining about "poaching" and feigning ethics. You don't own recruits/commits and if you can't keep them convinced your school is best for them, that's on you. OSU always has a top class. Fight fire with fire...if you think you can somehow make that work for you.
3) Stop whining about not enough talent in the North or only Ohio having it and get your freaking staff in a damn plane to recruit Tx, Fla, Ga, etc. In OSU's '13 class we had: - 3 kids from Tx, - 2 kids from Fla, - 2 kids from Ga, - 1 kid from SC - 1 kid from NC - 1 kid from CA - 1 kid from NJ - 1 kid from MO - 1 kid from IN - 11 kids from OH. So well over half our class came from OOS, including a bunch from SEC territory and other southern climes.
That is all.
Please resume your regularly-scheduled Meyer and OSU bashing. Hopefully it will keep you warm during the storm hitting out region the next day or so.
