You guys are incredible. Read the game threads and State is the most pathetic team around. He never said fire Izzo or whatever, just held him accountable. Said it was a nice season that ended with disappointment. Meh, not too shocking from him.
Plus while his whole "fallen hard" thing was over the top, before the B1G in 09 what did you really think about the state of the team. Hindsight is always 20/20, what if the team did not break through and was playing like 02-08. No banners, lets throw in a nice run to Detroit but get beat by UConn. What would your perspective be of the program. That was the point of his thread; unless things improve, what is the reality of MSU Bball? It was not a prediction of future failure.

SIX final fours and a national title in 13 years and people are criticizing our coach who took a team picked to finish 4th to 6th and won the Big Ten, Big Ten Tourney and a Sweet 16. I live in KC now, and for the last two weeks I heard Izzo's name dozens of times on local sports radio as the guy they wished Bill Self was and how he needed to get a few more final fours before he could be in Izzo's class. Not K, not Boeheim, Not Cal....IZZO. He was the gold standard. So why is it all of the Kansas - who has some extremely entitled fans - look to Izzo as the guy they want their coach to aspire to be, yet in Michigan all we get is that the season was a 'disaster', Izzo flopped, etc etc. It drives me fucking crazy and makes me want to punch anyone who says this nonsense in the face. You people need a serious dose of reality and perspective. We somehow have a coach nearly every fanbase in the country would kill to have yet our own fans want nothing but to bitch and moan about missing a final four. Pull your heads out of your ass.

On this one, Mikey can fuck off, bush league bitch. From unranked to a #1 seed and Sweet Sixteen, 15-game win streak, B10 title, B10 Tourney Champs, opened season and played competitive in world-class aircraft carrier classic, 17 of 34 teams we played made the big dance, had to overcome loss of Dawson, Bryd still not close to player he was, Appling still transitioning to PG... One hell of a season to be proud of, one game changes none of that.

Now that we're past reason #772 why you're an inbred moronic hillbilly, I will start by saying that "we ran out of gas" was absolutely true. We needed Dawson during this game and I knew there was a game we were going to need him. We got outplayed, plain and simple. "We ran out of gas" isn't an excuse, its a fact.
