yeah, the Vet was our first order of business last monday. We had the medicine bath, and got confirmation that he was contagious. That was a huge concern. We handled him with gloves on for the first day, until the vet opened in the morning. And only used disposable leashes, things of that sort.

Too funny! That's almost identical to the list my wife gives to the nanny when she goes out of town regarding me.

    #2 is more like:

When you take him for a walk, make sure you don't tug on his "little SeeRockCity" and when he looks at your with the whiney face, DON'T offer him lovins.

    Other than that, identical.

    lol awesome!

  • Be very careful and don't get pulled into bird hunting, this has ruined my fishing and early bow seasons here, then the next thing you know you are traveling all over the state to compete again other crazy ass hunters to show off your dog. The past 4 years of bird hunting have been one hell of a ride with lots of ups and lots and lots of downs, but so much fun I wouldn't trade it for anything

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH. I forgot to add this to the pictures.

This is the list of instructions that my 15 year old left for my 17 year old when she went to help my wife at the school on Tuesday. Pay close attention to #3 and #5. They are my favs

Loved the note! Exactly like the note my 14 year old left for our 15 year old Kenzie (what a coincidence your daughter has the same name) when she went to camp, except it was for a mouse.

I was going to copy todays not as well, but then she decided to stay home to take care of the dog herself. My kids are very funny sometimes. And the coincidence is also very funny. Awesome!

The ACTUAL text conversation between my oldest (lilGB) and MrsGB yesterday:

lilGB: I just put gas in the lawn mower and I cant get it to start
MrsGB: Did you try choking it?
lilGB: I would love to choke it, but I cant find it's neck!

good stuff. My house is filled with this stuff every day!

LOL. Sounds like a lot of fun. We have a lot of fun with our kids too with some great one-liners. Of course that is offset by the aggravation they cause at other times. Be glad your 17 year old girl isn't a 17 year old boy that is carrying around a ton of anger because his bio-parents ruined the first 12 years of his life, and he's using that as an excuse to try and ruin the rest of it.

The fun stuff is great, but OOOOOOOOOOH DANG. Yeah, that other stuff doesnt sound like any fun.

We have had 9 foster kids so far. Most of them are angry at somebody. Most of them have some issues that they are medicated for, although I think some of these docs take the easy way out. We've seen some weird stuff.

I hope yours turns out ok. Sounds like a ton of work ahead.

We just had one of our former fosters over for dinner last night. She was filling out her stuff online for college. She looked at our current foster (who is 13) and told her "You need to make sure that you listen to what these two tell you. If they tell you that you need to do something in school, DO IT. If they tell you that something isnt right here at home, fix it. Do whatever it is they ask. When you are done, then you can ask why. And when you are 18, and on your own, you will be glad you did."

She told her that she didnt want to pay attention to anyone else but herself for the first 3 mo she was with us, but after that she figured out that we were working to HELP her, and she fell in line with the plan. And if she hadnt, she would have nowhere to go right now, and life would suck.

The 13 year old worships her, so hopefully it will work out for all of us. They come from the same hometown, and were room mates at our house for about a month, before the former kid aged out.

Life is long. Mistakes now will stick with a kid for the rest of their lives.

I don't have any useful info to add to this thread, but I just wanted to say great stuff, Bill! Sounds like you are doing a bang up job all the way around, hope the little pup's condition keeps improving and I'm sure it will with all of the TLC he is receiving. I never expected a thread on tRCMB to give a tug on my heartstrings.

Oh hell. I just spent 3 minutes laughing so hard I was crying. People have come to my office to check on me. That is fantastic.

GB - keep up the good work. If you ever come to E.L., let us know - I would love to buy you a drink.

    So how is the dog?

Reggie is doing much better. I will try to get updated pictures tomorrow.

He still sleeps A LOT! But every couple of hours he gets outside to take a leak (which he does while walking most of the time!!) and he walks around for a little while. He is starting to wag his tail, and bounce a little while he is outside. Then he goes back in and eats. and falls back to sleep.

He eats and drinks a_lot every day, and he gets some vitamin gel at every possible chance. But he is still very skinny. But things are really looking up.

He is hard to look at though. It hurts just to look at him.

    Thanks!

Yesterday, we brought him up from the basement (not exactly the dungeon, he was living better than me) and he spent some time in the living room, walking around, trying to find things to pee on. Fortunately he didnt test anything out yet, but he spent the day with us. He still slept most of the day. But when he was awake, he got to interact with people.

He also got to spend some time with our other dog, and the old fella was not exactly happy to have a stinky puppy rubbing all over him.

But it was a good day.
