Vinsetta Garage - The Restaurant

I had heard (and read) a few months back that Curt Catallo - of the Clarkston Union and Union Woodshop fame - is going to be opening a restaurant in Berkely in the old Vinsetta Garage building. The original reports I read said it was expected to open in February or March. Well, that has not happened, but it appears the project is still going well, and the latest I read (see attached) it is now expected to open soon - the article says by May 1. I am really excited about this restaurant. I have loved the Union for years, but living in south Oakland County it is a hike for a normal night out. I am really excited to see what these guys do with the building of the Vinsetta Garage and the menu they put together. This should be a good one.

My office is across the street. I will bump when I see some activity over there, but not much has been going on that i can see from the outside.

Where the heck will people park? I'm sure the residents of that street and the apt. complex will be chasing people away.
Anyone know how to find some old/historic pics of that garage and gas station, when it was still in business?

They are in the home stretch. Most of the construction is done, the menu is finished. Just working on staffing and finishing touches. The goal was to have it opened earlier, but doing a restaurant in an old garage proved to have some extra challenges.
Should be open soon. I'll give you an update as soon as I know more.

If you are facing the garage there is a fenced in area to the left. I am guessing there is a lot there that goes along side of and possibly behind the old garage, but I am only guessing.

Good. Getting annoyed by the tourists polluting downtown Clarkston on the weekends. I hate tossing people out of my seat at the Union.

According to the article they are going to have 22 taps. It should be great. I have always loved the beer selection at the Union. Looking forward to another great restaurant with really good beers around here.

if it's anything like biga, may 1 means september 1. biga was supposed to open in roya oak last september. it opened monday. so, like, february really means august or september. and i can't wait. i was starting to wonder if that was just a rumor or an actual thing that would be happening.

They just re-did the exterior. Looks nicer. I am hoping there will be some outdoor seating for Friday summer drinking lunches.

I was invited to a soft opening last week and the food was phenomenal. It was done more family style but it was still great food w/ huge portions.
Once it's open we'll go back and be able to order off menu and it looks like it's going to be awesome.

Well not in the true sense of the word. Ever since that Guy Fieri thing the restaurants have been crazy busy with people from all over the state. Its a good problem to have but can be annoying at times.

Union, they will bring some smoked meats and cheeses up to add to items, but they are not a BBQ joint.
They do have a brick oven pizza like the Woodshop, but that's about it.
