Vinsetta Garage - The Restaurant

  • Just drove by. You would think they were giving food away. Two news trucks as well.

  • I went and had a beer. Atmosphere was cool. Parking was awful.

  • So anyone else able to report back on this?

Yes. Terrible. I had to park three streets over. I called ahead and they said the wait was less than 10 minutes. I show up 10 minutes later and now the wait is 45 minutes. I just turned around and walked out.

  • I kind of wonder if they ran out of product over the weekend. Showed up at 7:30 on Sunday night. Parked right near the place. Pario was empty. Nobody waiting. Hostesses told us it was a three and a half hour wait. Then they made a point to tell us again they close at 11. Will have to try again when it's less new.

  • Went there last night. Got there about 7 and it was a two hour wait. We knew going in and it was fine. We waited, and it took all of the two hours they predicted. The food was awesome. I had the Macon Bacon Burger, yum. The others had a variety of pizza, mac-n-cheese, and another kind of burger. All enjoyed. Pretty decent tap list as well, but nothing too crazy. They have done an awesome job with doing as little as they could to keep the character of the garage. They have a nice outdoor waiting are on a nice night like yesterday, but unfortunately you can't drink out there, but it sounds like they are working on that. We want to go back just to try the Faygo Ice Cream dessert. People are complaining about the parking, but I don't get it. You have to park on the street, but it is just a little walk, and hey, it's free. I was carrying a baby car seat and didn't complain so not sure why some people are. Overall I think it is a winner and look forward to going back.

  • Stopped by on Tuesday night at around 930. Grabbed the last seat at the bar.

Had the Macon Bacon Burger. 2 kinds of bacon and pancetta atop the burger. Bacon jam and a pretzel bun.

    Amazing hamburger!

Had 2 beers, a hefe from Michigan and Divant's Zaison.

Little pricey, $30 after tip. But damn good burger.

Do they have call ahead seating?

I went Friday night. Told the wait would be 1 hr 45 min, ended up around 2 hrs. I thought the tap list was really good and was almost exclusively Michigan beers (had less than 5 non-MI beers out of about 20 taps). I had the Zaison from Brewery Vivant - which was good and was nice to see because almost no one carries Vivant in Metro Detroit from what I have seen. Had a create your own burger - It was awesome. Most at out table had burgers (including the veggie burger) and everyone raved about them. Appitizers were pretty good too (we had fried cheese curds and the disco fries). Will definitely be back again. Pizzas looked really good too.

  • Ate here on Monday night. Vinsetta Burger was worth the hour and 15 minute wait. Seems like they are still working out the kinks but I would definitely go back.
