Kenny Chesney IS a mega-millionaire. He can sing about pickups all he wants, but he is a rock star singing poppy country tunes, not an average, ordinary person.

And there are just as many "everyday normal people" listening to these mega-millionaire rockers. Last I checked Classic Rock stations are still popular everywhere. A ton of baby boomers prefer AC/DC to Kenny Chesney.

My favorite part about country fans: When they try to tell you about a certain band they like that supposedly isn't that bad, they always rationalize it with something like, "They're more southern rock than country." Country music is terrible, and even country music fans admit that inadvertently.

Ha, I knew that was coming eventually. I like hip hop, mostly, which I'm sure won't go over well. But I hate most of the stuff on the radio. I'm a huge Beastie Boys fan, if that gives you a better indication. I also like classic rock, I guess you would call it, because that's what my parents listened to when I was growing up. I'm typically open to lots of music, I just really hate country.

My statement earlier about country fans all being stupid was too much. I regret that, I'm just not a morning person. But I do think the music is annoying, and the lyrics are simple to the point they make the musicians sound dumb. To each their own I guess, though.

My preferred brand of music is better than your preferred brand of music. If you don't like what I like, something is wrong with you.

I'm a big country music fan. I'm unapologetic about it and don't GAF what others think. I love Classic Rock and all of that but haven't heard any great new rock come out any time recently. Kenny Chesney always puts on a good show and I've seen him twice (once in a Grand Rapids and once at Ford Field). I would have been more excited to see Zack Brown Band for this one though. I'm more George Strait, Eric Church, Jamey Johnson type country than Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Rascall Flats or other chick/pop type country. I've thought about starting a country music thread but figured it would just be full of people trolling and hating.

All of the hipster attitude-fueled hate that goes on in these music threads is awesome.

Whatever genre any single one of you guys prefer, no matter how full of musical talent and complexity you may believe it to be, consists of bands where 90% range from not very good to fucking terrible. It's not just whatever music you don't like.

Anyways, i personally don't listen to much country but haters gonna hate. Good for OP+friends for havin' a good time and not givin' a shit.

Why people feel the need to justify why they like a certain type of music or why they go to a certain artist's concerts on a message board is beyond me. My favorite type of music is Jazz/Big Band. The type of stuff the Tonight Show Band used to play in the Carson days. I have to cite that example because most younger (under 40) people today are morans and don't have the first damn clue what Bop/Big Band music sounds like but most people have seen old Carson clips. If you don't like it, eat a dick. I'd go to an Eric Miyashiro Band or Jimmy Heath or Rob McConnell concert before any popular artist today.

My cousin went to that show, I didn't. Not a fan of Kenny really. It is definitely true that all of his new stuff sounds the same (but I do like Boys of Fall).
