He's been allowed to wreck havok in this league before... Why even bother suspending him? Either kick him out permanently or just let him keep it up. 2004 at the palace should factor into a suspension, but... It won't.

Somehow i think the guy is so wildly unstabel he was both intentionally trying to hurt the guy, celebrating, and unaware of his surroundings... From the looks of thing, he almost had no way of knowing whether it was his own teammate or the opponent. That said, nothing with ron artest could shock me at this point. Set fire to an orphanage? Give all of his money to feed the hungry? Turn out to be bison deles murderer? Like i said, nothing would shock me.

Wow, that was pretty violent, I would not want to play basketball with that dude. Did you ever hear the story he tells about watching someone get murdered during a pickup game? Apparantly there was an argument, and someone broke off a table leg and stabbed the other dude with it. It's no secret that Artest has some serious problems, I think he might be better off just retiring and trying to control his rage.

You can clearly see that Harden and Artest bumped chests. Artest had to know that he was there. If you watch the video, you can see Artest raise his elbow and look out of the corner of his eye at Harden. He was hoping it would look like a continuation of the celebration, but it was terrible acting.

with his history, he could be looking at a suspension for the rest of the playoffs or even worse. i honestly could see stern banning him for a year plus if hes fed up with this

I don't think it was that bad. he was celebrating, made contact with someone and threw the elbow without looking. Suspension, yes. Long suspension? No.

As for his instability, some friends who know him from his St. John's days (where he worked out during his suspension) said that off the court he's a good guy, quiet and polite. But, between the lines he's a nutjob. For him the basketball court was his way out of the hood and something goes off inside of him when he steps on the floor.

Didn't look like an accident to me. He knew only OKC players were in the vicinity, you could see him look slightly to the left as the elbow is being thrown, and, probably the most telling factor, after he makes contact, he keeps going and doesn't even look to see who he just decked. You don't hit someone that hard and not notice or turn around to see if the guy you just hit is ok.
