My dad worked 12 hour shifts. Swing shift. He'd work like 3 nights, get 2 days off, work 4 days, get 3 days off, work 3 nights, etc. Except every month, he got one solid week off. One week off every month works out to 3 months off a week at a time, plus his other days off, plus vacation. But that meant having a jacked up sleep schedule, working random weekends, and getting your ass kicked when you had to pull OT.

Going home and not giving a shit about the previous 8.5 hours of my life.

And $10 Microsoft Office.

Don't have to punch a clock, can roll in pretty much whenever if I'm not busy/don't have calls. 22 vacation days + 10 paid holidays + unlimited sick time. Low insurance premiums for pretty good coverage. $45/month subsidy of my cell phone data plan, $100 toward purchase of new mobile device every couple years. No one breathing down my neck, so I can spend a lot of time online.

Downsides: cancelled vacations, working through holidays, not being able to take sick day, pulling all-nighters fairly regularly, and in general completely rearranging my life at the whims of clients.

Just happy to have a job.... also PKG you can be able to find a job easily if you are willing to relocate.

I get close to this, but mine works out to like .44/Mile.

I was expecting to hear stories of dudes surrounded by hot women all the time, whether they are admins or nurses or whatever. Disappointed to hear otherwise, except for the lifeguard.

35 hours a week. 10 sick days and 10 vac days a year. If work load is light across the company, I'm welcome to take unpaid time off. Vision, Medical, solid 401k matching. Not strict about what hours I work.

I also live down the street so I never deal with commute. One side of my cubicle is an exterior wall - decent view of the SF Bay.

We get an hour in the yard each day, a visitor once a week, and Kirk Cousins came and visited us last week .
