I had a dog named Sandy for 13 years when I was younger. I really loved that thing but we had to put it down because it got cancer and was suffering. I was nearly inconsolable on the drive home from the vet. My dad looked heartbroken.

I imagine Spam tastes like Sandy's shit.

OK, I see it's basically a trolling thread, but there's a real answer.

SPAM was named because it's Spiced Ham. It tastes like inexpensive chopped ham with some spices in it. Works well as an inexpensive breakfast meat, especially if you fry it like you would a piece of ham. Usually salty. I like it. My sister detests it, would rather be hungry than eat it or smell it.

GOOGLE Spamarama in Austin, TX just for fun if you're that interested.... funny stuff goes on that weekend. I went once just for a lark, and bought a SPAM cookbook to give to my sister....

Not bad. Fry in in a pan with some eggs, serve baked beans, toast with real butter and jam, a large glass of orange juice add a daily vitamin and some metamucil , and you are good to go.

Years ago, like a quarter century, I used to work with this guy who often traveled out of town to one of our divisional HQs. While on his trips, in an effort to save the company money, he would often buy a can of spam or two for dinner. As he liked his spam warm, he'd stick the cans on top of the steam heat radiator in his hotel room and then eat it out of the can when it became the "desired" temp. Naturally, his technique of cooking spam only worked in the winter.

It tastes like 90% of processed American deli counter ham. I.e. very little.

I believe it was created as a meat product that didn't require refrigeration for the boys in wars overseas...way back yesteryear.

My family used to eat Spam sandwiches for lunch in the summers. I don't remember if we liked them or hated them.
