Lyrics: Sit, good dog, stay, bad dog, down, roll over Well here's a good man and a pretty young girl Trying to play together somehow, I'm wasting my life, you're changing the world, I get drunk and watch your head grow It's the good times that we share and the bad times that we'll have It's the good times and the bad times that we had Well it's been a long slow collision, I'm a pitbull, you're a dog, Baby you're foul in clear conditions But you're handsome in the fog So I need some fine wine, and you, you need to be nicer For the good times and the bad times That we'll have Sometimes we talk over dinner like old friends Till I go and kill the bottle, I go off over any old thing, Break your heart and raise a glass or ten To the good times that we shared and the bad times that we'll have To the good times and the bad time that we've had Well it's been a long slow collision, I'm a pitbull, you're a dog, Baby you're foul in clear conditions But you're handsome in the fog So I need some fine wine and you, you need to be nicer For the good times and the bad times we know will come Yeah I need some fine wine and you, you need to be nicer you need to be nicer you need For the good times and the bad time that we had Sit Good times, bad times Sweet wine, bad wine Good cop, bad cop, Lapdog, bad dog Sit.

Been into this band for a few years now and they just dropped an album today. They're from the Farmington area and the singer/writer went to MSU. LOTS of Michigan related references in their songs (even name check Baker Woodlot in one of their new ones).

I'm on mobile, but check out the song "Pontiac, The Nightbrink."

These guys have done shows with Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers...I went to HS with the singer who went to Central and I think the rest of the band went to MSU. They do lots of shows in Lansing and also reference a lot of Michigan stuff in most of their songs. This is probably their biggest "hit" and most of you will probably recognize the setting of the video. Typically not at all my type of music but probably one of my favorite bands at the moment.

  • A bunch from a few different eras. Radio Birdman is awesome.

The Saints were some quality punk from the late 70s and are still recording.

Hum was a quality Midwest act, reminiscent of Smashing Pumpkins that never really made it.

The Auctioneers is fun power pop from New York.

Dirty Americans just broke up, but on this side of the state, no one knows 'em. Quality Detroit rock.

Echo the sentiments of Gogol Bordello, those guys are the tits.

Sorry for no links, but I'm on mobile.

This all day. Saw them at Bonnaroo in 07. One of the best shows I've ever seen.

Also a band called Dawes. Their album Nothing Is Wrong is a fucking gem.

Dawes' new album comes out April 9 - Stories Don't End. I've seen them twice now - once as an opener, once as a headliner and met the band. Great live show. Hoping to catch them again once they start touring for this new album.

Letras Shake me down, Not a lot of people left around, Who knows now, Softly laying on the ground, ooooh Not a lot people left around, ooooh. ooooh In my life, I have seen, People walk into the sea, Just to find memories, Plagued by constant misery, Their eyes cast down, Fixed upon the ground, Their eyes cast down I'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun Shake me down, Cut my hair on a silver cloud, Broken sound, Softly laying on the ground, ooooh Not a lot people left around, ooooh, ooooh In my past, bittersweet, There's no love between the sheets, Taste the blood, broken dreams, Lonely times indeed, With eyes cast down, Fixed upon the ground, Eyes cast down I'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun Turn back now its time for me to let go, Way down had to find a place to lay low, Lampshade turned around into a light post Walk around the corner, Never saw it coming still, I try to make a move, It almost stopped me from belief, I don't wanna know the future, But I'm like rolling thunder, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, I'll keep my eyes fixed on the- I'll keep my eyes fixed on the- I'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun Shake me down, Not a lot of people left around, ooooh, ooooh
