What team would you HATE having Draymond go to in the Draft?

  • State00 said...

I'll root for him no matter where he ends up, because the guy has busted his ass and will continue to do so. He is a flat out soul-in-the-game winner.

That said, the following craptastic franchises don't deserve him, and I hope he doesn't end up in any of these wastelands:

    1.Sacramento
    2. Charlotte
    3. Toronto
    4. Golden State
    5. Milwaukee
    6. Washington
    7. Hate to say it, but Detroit--a directionless franchise.

I pray he's going to Golden State out of that group. The team will be moving to SF in two years. Season tix in my future if he does.

are you drunk? we don't even know if he will get minutes in the NBA or where he will fit in.

I say secondary roll with a good team (miami, OKC) or glue guy on an up and comer (clippers, bulls, pacers, trailblazers)...hopefully not buried with a lead role on some crappy market, low performing team.

Kobe is 11x better than Dayday will ever be...and I'm a fan of him and wish him well.

I think Draymond has a unique skill set and the team with the right need could make him a star...but taking over for Kobe? Uh, no.

If you actually read my post carefully before calling me drunk, you would have noticed I said LEADERSHIP not skill. He'll never touch Kobe on that.

There's a Small Forward need on the Lakers and Day Day is the type of player that would thrive in that environment.

  • Listened to another radio host in Memphis interview Chris Wallace, the Grizzlies GM. The host, Chris Vernon, said he thought Draymond was miles ahead of the other players the Grizz brought in for workouts. Wallace pretty much agreed but said he wasn't too confident DayDay would be there at the 25th pick.

A lot of Grizz fans on Twitter are hoping Memphis picks Green as well. I'd be ecstatic as I'm a season ticket holder.

  • That would be the San Antonio Spurs.

Would love to see him go to the Lakers, Wizards, Pistons or Bulls.

  • i just want the kid to play and have a nice pro career.

Your average UofM fan and I have something in common, neither of us went to UofM. Though we do share One major difference, I got Accepted.

  • Hoopshype has had Green out of the first round, in the first round going to the Heat, out of the first round again, and now going to the Cavs.

Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavs, Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Bobcats, Phoenix Suns. Basically any of the worst teams in the NBA.

This. I don't care if he ends up in Miami. I'd much rather it be OKC or LA. But either way, he's a winner and he deserves to play for one. He's played for one bad team in his life, and I think it would literally crush his soul to be stuck on a bottom dweller.

    This.

What looks like a good or contending team today could be an also ran team within a year or two, see Pistons fall off a few years ago.

What looks like a horrible team with a bleak future could become one of the better teams within a a few years, see OKC (22-60 in '08, 23-59 in '09).

you obviously didn't read his post very well...he didn't say he could become the next Kobe...he said he could become the next leader for the lakers

I agreed until I thought about it more. Imagine Draymond passing the ball around with Lebron. It could be a lot of fun to watch.

  • I'd love it if he goes to the Heat, I'd have plenty of chances to watch him play.

I'd say Miami. I'd probably think about becoming a Heat fan just for him. no

I'd hate to see him go to Miami because I'd have to root against him. i love draymond but I can't stand to see Lebron win rings. It was like Hoyer going to the Patriots. During the superbowl my wife asked me who i was pulling for i said the Giants without hesitation. Loved Hoyer, loved Jones, had to root for jones (and thomas) to win their rings.

The first time MSU basketball aired in France the French surrendered to Tom Izzo just to be safe.

    Justinc882

  • I mostly just want him to have a great pro career. Even if he went to the Heat, who I hate and really don't want to see win anymore titles, I'd still want him to do well and would be happy for him if he did get a ring.

  • Heat? Why wouldn't you want him to have a good chance of winning an NBA title in his rookie season?

  • Here's how I've decided the draft will go.

    Drummond falls to the Pistons.

Pistons trade both 2nd round picks and Jerebko/Daye/Singler/whatever to the Pacers for their first.

    Pistons draft Day Day.

I go that way as well. I was dreading the Bulls drafting Mateen because that would mean I couldn't bring myself to root for him. I don't choose my professional loyalties based on where MSU players go. I also wouldn't start rooting against the Lions, Pistons or Red Wings because a UM, Wisconsin or ND player was drafted there.

  • Chad Ford's version 10.1 now has him going at 28 to OKC. I would absolutely love that! Would love to see Green on the floor with Durant, Harden, Westbrook, and Ibaka at the same time.

Unless they dump Harden (which is possible, he might be too expensive to keep), this would be a great team for Green to have a chance at the NBA title in his first 5 years in the league. Even without Harden, the Zombie Sonics are still a very good basketball team
