What would Tigers have to give up for Altuve?

  • Mudjin harbor said...

In spite of the Astro's having him under control for 5 years they wil
    trade him

They have a glut of prospects at 2nd 23 and under, that's why they are willing to trade him.

So a dude that's batting .300 three months into his career is proven talent? Dombrowski's phone must be ringing daily about Berry then...

This is Altruve's second season in the majors, he has 150+ games under his belt.

  • I'll take jed lowrie for less than they want for altuve.
Play him as second this year, and then he can take peralta's spot at SS next year.

No... he doesn't. Even if he did, that's not close to 'proven'.

    Lunchables

  • Yes, he does.
Came up July 27th last year

No... he doesn't. But you obviously have shown you know a lot of baseball by calling the Astros the Astro's.

confused He has played in 132 games and only started 126. That's not 150+ games...

Your link you posted agrees with me and other posters who said he came up last year and has a full season worth of AB's under his belt. I don't know why you persist in segueing this point, unless you are just a dick...lol

Haha no, no, dude. Your last post was you trying to call me out about number of games played when you were wrong. Yes, Altuve has a season's worth of at-bats under his belt. So what? Keep sitting on your hands waiting for him if you think he's proven, but I don't see August and September at-bats last season against Triple A call ups from the Pirates, Cubs and Padres and three months this season as anything close to proven. Calling him proven for a season's worth of at-bats in which he hit .290 in the NL Central is just laughable.

  • Lunchables you said earlier in the thread he had 3 months in the bigs, I said he had almost a full season of at bats under his belt.
    132 is ALMOST a full season, 3 months isn't.
    Just reread the thread.
Then admit you weren't aware he played last year......

Btw... Last I checked the Cards won the WS out of that division, and the Reds and Brewers weren't exactly chopped liver either last year.

How would I have set you and RPMad straight on how many games he's actually played if I didn't know he played last year? I have him in a keeper league lol

You aren't even aware of how to spell the franchise's name correctly and I'm supposed to take your baseball IQ seriously? Reds finished under .500, dude... and while the Cardinals did win, they needed the biggest final month collapse in the history of the Wild Card era to get in. Of course Altuve was going to get at-bats for HOU last year. His team was 50 games under .500. gHost and Ross would have gotten at-bats.

I note you left the Brewers out of your previous post

Haha like I said man... I have him in a keeper league. I know how many games he's played and how long he's been around. You and others didn't know how many games he's played, obviously. You're avoiding that point quite vehemently. If you think being on a lineup card and soaking up September ABs for a franchise that is 50 games under .500 is proving yourself then sure... go ahead and think that. I guess Robert Fick was proving himself for the Tigers in 2002 when they lost 106 games. He's done so much since. Altuve, with an OBP that was under .300 last year, has three months solid and one All-Star appearance to go on and really that's it. There's no way I'd trade for that overall uncertainty, especially with what the Astros will want in return... which is quite a bit.

You'll probably reply to none of this and just keep reverting back to my previous posts, so enjoy this thread you created in which you spelled the name of an MLB franchise incorrectly.

  • Haha, I suck spelling, point taken...lol
Funny thing is I lived in Houston in the Early 80's. Used to go to the dome a couple times a week, center field bleacher tickets were two bucks. Caught a popup from Jack Clark one night.
I agree kid is green, but even the kid they have at AAA playing 2nd is a better option than anything we currently have.
Who knows what will happen, but second is a glaring weakness
