What's with chicks always trying to sell each other crap?

  • I swear my wife gets invited to one of these "parties" every month. Lingerie parties, make up parties, purse parties, sex toy parties, shoe parties etc. Now the newest one is called a 31 party, which I thought was going to be the girl's 31st birthday party, but it's another one of these things and I don't even know what they sell. Then she feels obligated to buy some overpriced junk. Does it ever end?

    Your wife gets invited because she buys shit. It ends when your wife stops buying shit. You wife will stop buying shit when she has a "party" and none of her "friends" buy anything.

    I think those home sale things like Amway and whatnot increase significantly when the economy is down because anyone can do it and its a chance to bring in some extra cash. I would say that it'll likely end or curb a lot as the economy continues to pick up.

  • Your wife needs to get better friends. Half my friends are chicks and I still have only been invited to maybe 5 sex toy parties (none within the last 5 years) and one Lia Sophia party (by some chick I barely know, definitely did not go). I've never even heard of shoe parties, lingerie parties (really?), purse parties, etc.

    I think this is the one my wife's friend hosted recently. At the end they had a drawing for discount coupons that you could enter if you agreed to host a party if selected. Thank god my wife declined, the first chick that entered of course was selected to host a party.

    I can't understand why women would be so eager to force that crap on their friends.

    That being said, my wife has sold purses, jewelry and some other at home america crap that still takes up space in my house. I seem to recall she made about a little money, but I never saw any of it. It was more of a pain in the ass than anything.

    I finally made her quit doing the stuff, because it always ended up with me going to the store and spending $100 on crap for her party, then not getting any of it back. I told her I'd give her an extra $100 a month if I didn't have to deal with this stuff anymore.
