Wheatley6 and Dontbeahomer1, Make Your Predictions

For 3, I would say that a lot of it depends on whether Denard's accuracy has really improved. Last year, MSU basically left guys wide open right in the middle of the field, figuring he wouldn't be able to hit them under pressure, and they were right. I don't think they'll get away with that quite as much this year, hence 24-20 UM is my prediction.

We know he can't come close to hitting a stationary target with no pressure on him lol

Again... he couldn't hit a 24 square foot target from 30 yards out.

Denard has improved his accuracy minimally in his first 3 years at UM. I highly doubt that some light bulb is going to go off and make everything click now. He's a phenomenal athlete, but he's not a QB.

You're only hope is that Borges continues to run some sort of RR type offense this year and none of your opponents watch tape on how MSU defends him. You have a better chance of that happening than Denard all of a sudden learning how to throw a football.

  • We've heard all the Denard Has Improved His Accuracy stuff for two straight seasons.

Not much has come of it.

  • I was hoping for some Dix Steele level homerism. I don't think anything can match that thread.

That isn't logically inconsistent at all. I predicted both teams to lose one of those games.

with the reasoning being that "they can't win both." you do realize they are independent events that have no bearing on one another, right? WHY can't MSU win both? WHY won't UofM lose both? Just because?

  • We have seen everything we are going to see from shoelace. The guy played some as a freshman, and every game as a so/jr. If he was going to vastly improve his passing (as he will have to if he is going to beat MSU) he would have done it by now. Not that he won't get better at all, or that he won't win his 3rd September Heisman. He could. But this idea that he will suddenly become a good efficient passer is just a pipe dream. That isn't his game.

So, um running the table in the B1G is...unlikely.

    Bump

I'm not sure I'd bump a thread where I picked MSU to be 9-3. Are you saying that is still possible or that you're a moran for picking it?
