Also, beyond that, there is a certain amount of coach speak/class that usually goes with these things. He's basically telling us that we won't be playing for national championships in the next six years. And while it's likely correct, it's also a knock against a school telling them that they won't be competing at the highest level. Again, likely.....Also likely for most other schools....especially B1G schools since OSU has been the only relevant one in recent memory.
It's just not something you say generally.
