There's, uh, some strange picks in here. I understand some of the early choices, even some of the other college and university presidents and professors, but the President of the University of Michigan in 1987 .

Izzo and Mason.

I only remember one part of Izzos. He told a story about interviewing an outgoing senior for a grad assistant job and asking that player if they gave it their all. Player said no so he didn't get the job. Always give your all.

Think it went something like that.....

Coolest part was singing the fight song on the floor afterword. Or maybe that was the Comm. Arts graduation part. As with many on here, hangovers make the memories a little fuzzy.

Oddly enough, I had dreams (more like nightmares) for the next 5 years that I was at the ceremony and they wouldn't let me graduate.

He actually was pretty good...though it was after one of his accidents or surgeries and was hobbling around on a crutch. Cracked a few jokes at his own expenses, generally stayed away from politics.

Had dinner with him years later after he was out of office through a mutual acquaintance, said he barely remembers speaking due to pain meds...but loved our campus. I said, that's ok, most of the students you spoke too have the same memory of that morning...he got a kick out of that.
