Who/What made you finally join Twitter?

Delvon Roe's tweets crack me up. So far I've resisted twitter, but I might join up just to get his tweets regularly.

It became the easiest way for staying up to date with news and tours. Hearing every media outlet or band plugging their accounts made me cave.

I gradually got into it. At first only created an account to get news (most efficient way to get breaking news IMO), but gradually as my friends and others started following me I started tweeting more (Usually about MSU/Tigers/Lions/Wings etc.)
It takes a while to get used to, but very addictive

I had to make one for a class I took last year. Didn't really used it for a while, but then like most others I started to use it more for news type things, and got more into it. I'm pretty sick of Facebook at this point so it's been a good replacement social media wise.

all my friends said i should get one. kept pestering me. So i did. and my tweets make absolutely no sense. Just word vomit that just clutters up their space. Trying to teach them to be careful what they wish for. Hate the damn thing. Just furthers the horrendously narcissistic antics of my generation.

I follow both sports and politics like it's my job and it would just get so annoying when i'd here about breaking news and it was credited to twitter so I just broke down and got on it.
Before joining i thought it would be people tweeting evey hour about what they are doing, It's not even close to that for the most part.

2 reasons.
1) When Phish came back from their break up it was the easiest way to see what the set lists were from the first new shows in Hampton. Since we couldn't go and they have such a huge catalog the wife and I wanted to see what they would play.
2) while you can get most sports scores online through Espn or CBS there is nowhere that runs real time lacrosse scores. Most teams have a twitter account that posts scores throughout the game. NCAA teams like Hopkins all the way down to club MCLA teams like MSU.

tRCMB keeps getting me closer and closer to joining due to Hollis/Bilas etc tweets. I'm already on fucking foursquare due to the AMEX syncing deals you can get and supposedly there are some with twitter as well.

I joined originally because Amazon was offering free credits if I tweeted. I follow a lot of the MSU football and basketball players but I don't tweet on my own since I've got 9 followers and I think most of those are porno spam people. I check Twitter once a week maybe.

If sports or politics was indeed "your job", then it might make sense. Otherwise, life goes on quite well without either even when you're hours behind. Needing to stay "up to the nanosecond" with what anyone else is doing is silly when it has absolutely no impact on your life. It's now the TMZing of America.

Twitter is fantastic as it is an instant unfiltered/uncensored mouthpiece which quite often shows just how dumb and or disconnected celebrities and athletes really are.
