Who's going to see Springsteen in AH tomorrow?

  • This will the 5th time I've seen the Boss in concert. Never been disappointed yet, and I'm sure tomorrow will be no exception. I've been looking at previous setlists from other shows so far on the WB tour. As to be expected it's weighted heavy towards the WB album. Give or take a song or two, his past shows have all pretty much followed the setlist below. How many past "Boss" concerts have you seen (if any) and is there one favorite that sticks out in your mind?

    - We Take Care of Our Own
    - Wrecking Ball
    - Badlands
    - Death to My Hometown
    - My City of Ruins
    - E Street Shuffle
    - Jack of All Trades
    - Seeds
    - Easy Money
    - Waitin' on a Sunny Day
    - The Promised Land
    - Apollo Medley (The Way You Do the Things You Do/634-5789)
    - Shackled and Drawn
    - Because the Night
    - The Rising
    - We Are Alive
    - Thunder Road

    Encores:
    - Rocky Ground
    - Land of Hope and Dreams
    - Born to Run
    - Dancing in the Dark
    - Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)
    - Tenth Avenue Freeze-out

  • I've been to two. When he was here for the Magic tour, but by far my favorite was in NY in 2000 where I witnessed the best performance of Jungleland ever (below).

Unforgettable performance from Live in New York City. Possibly one of the greatest performances of all time. Includes poetic lyrics, guitar, keyboard solos and the epic saxophone solo by the Big Man. --- As soon as the views hit 300 000 or I get 50 subscribers, I will repost an HD version of this video

  • Saw him once, in 2000. Didn't really get the Bruce thing until he played Badlands twice in a row and the guys in front of me started crying. Thunder Road and Promised Land are my favorites, and I will tell anyone who will listen that Thunder Road is among the best compositions in American musical history.

Not the biggest fan, but huge respect for the talent of Bruce and his bandmates, several of whom are virtuosos in their own right. From what I understand his tribute to Clarence in Tenth Avenue Freeze Out is nothing short of amazing.

Can't go tomorrow, but have a great time.

    Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.

  • Seen him maybe 25 times and have not once walked away thinking it was a bad show. They have all been unbelievable.

    Highlights:
85 Pontiac silverdome 100k people -40th row on floor and 15 years old. Amazing.

    99 Bercy in Paris
96 Meadowlands but w/o estreet band

01 took a 9am flight from Detroit to Newark with a buddy, rented a car and scalped tickets for night 9/10 at Madison Square Garden. Drove back to EL staright through and got home at 1030am. 24hr bender

Tom Joad Tour 95/96. Kzoo miller auditorium, waited out back and he came out after the show and we all had cd' signed and talked to him for 15-20 mintues. Tried talking him into going to the bar with us and he was very close but some chick came out at the last minute and he let with her -not Pattie.

2000 era -Chicago Comisky Park - First few rows inthe pit all show,. Laura Flynne Boyle all jacked up with her shirt going up/down showing off her 15 yr old boy boobs. Literally disgusting to see and watch the way she used stuff and was all over the place.

Overall seen him 6-8 times inteh fromt few rows. Slappped high fives with Clarence and Bruce -Clarence a few times.

Clarence recognized me at a few shows as I would always stand in front of him. When I had my bone marrow transplabt I had to wear a mask for a year or so and I went to three concerts and wore maks at them, at the 3rd show he pointed at me and smiled -I've assumed that meant he recognized me from the weks before.

    Anyway, Bruce rocks, great shows.

  • I've seen him 7 times and will see him in a few weeks in Newark. I took my wife for the first time in 2009, she didn't understand my obsession.....until she saw him live. The guy is 62 and puts everything he has into the show for 3+ hours. I had to carry her off the field at Giants Stadium she was so exhausted after the show. We were on the other side of this camera at Giants Stadium when he came into the crowd - my wife grabbed his leg, I was 3 feet from him. I could have dropped dead that night and died a happy man.

I've seen clips of the shows, the new stuff is very good and the way he's incorporated the horns and Clarence's nephew in is great while honoring the Big Man. I thought I'd heard the last of Promised Land and Thunder Road live, I was wrong. Have a great time! BRUUUUUUUUCE!

I've been on the front row 3-4 times.. camped out in front of Bruce a couple of times, once in front of Little Steven and then once in front of Clarence in Columbus, OH..

had the privilege of strumming Bruce's guitar during Born to Run once - you know how he'll sometimes kneel down right in front of folks during the long extended note.. just before "a-one, two, three, four... the highway's jammed with broken heroes.." - and let the people reach up and play?

that was me one time.. cool

(see 3:12 mark on the video below.. this isn't the exact show but I don't think my description was quite sufficient..)..

That's awesome to strum the guitar. I watched people do it tonight and thought how cool that would be.

Tinights show was fantastic, great mix of new an dold stuff. Picked the right songs off the new album. Encores were amazing. He body surfed, brought a 9-10 yr old kid up to sing the alast half of Wating ona Sunny Day and had him slide across the stage with him, brought two young girls up for Daning.... Fun sho. I texted my wife and told her it was Audio Prozac or Natural PRozac,..

if you need to laugh, smile and feel good and have a gret time.... go to a Springsteen show.

One thing you never hear is that Bruce gave a bad concert. The guy gives it all every time.

among other tunes, obviously, it looks like the Detroit crowd gets "Incident"... and "Because the Night".. not bad..

Nils on "Because the Night" is absolutely ridiculous. Played in 2 of the last 3 shows I've seen, his solo is incredible.

Great setlist for Detroit. Here's the funny thing with Springsteen shows, often I'll look at set lists and see what he didn't play, there's such a vast catalog of great songs. Looking forward to Newark! Glad the Detroit folks got such an awesome show! thumbsup

as many times as I've seen Bruce, they've only done "Backstreets" once.. and I have never seen "Racing in the Streets"..

I've seen Backstreets at 3 of my last 4 (last one was a Born to Run show). So damn powerful. I'd love to see the Racking in the Streets original version from The Promise.

I love this comment Bruce made to the crowd last night - so true. Leaving the St. Louis 08 show I went to my buddy said "I feel as if I've just been beaten by a sack or bricks" as our shirts were soaked in sweat - and we weren't even on the floor! Ridiculous version of Cover Me that night as well as an encore featuring Detroit Medley and "I Fought The Law."

He gave the audience a friendly warning at the beginning of the concert -- or a promise, depending on your view -- "Tomorrow, you will wake up sore, your back will hurt, your sexual organs will be stimulated, and you'll say, 'But I was just standing there!'"
