Hysterical bubbles! (original) - laughing ...

Get Molly's laugh as your ringtone! Text BABYLAUGHING to 69937 (MYXER) to download for just $.99! On a lazy day I decided to try blowing bubbles for my daughter, Molly. At first, she didn't think they were "all that," but then Bennie, the dog, showed Molly how much fun bubbles can be. Molly thought Bennie's bubble popping was the funniest thing she has seen in her 9-1/2 months! A little background info on Bennie: We adopted Bennie from a shelter in Central Illinois in 2008. They told us that he is a German Shepherd and Beagle mix. We would not be surprised to find out that he has other breeds mixed in as well!

  • This thread is somewhat depressing because I've been wanting a dog for a few years but just can't have one yet.

How could someone not love a face like this?

My two dogs do this for each other...they've been together for almost every second of every day for the last 2 years. Now, whenever we take one out and leave the other at home, the one at home just sits by the door and stares at it until the other one gets back.

Colorado coonhound Harbor nabs Guiness World Record for longest dog ears with over 25 inches

Hear ye, hear ye - stop and stare at the longest dog ears in the world.

A black-and-tan coonhound from Colorado was certified this week by the Guinness Book of World Records for his massive earspan: a 13.5-inch right ear, and a 12.25-inch left ear.

Harbor, a 93-pound dog, was big-eared from birth, according to owner Jennifer Wert. His ears were so long that the puppy would trip over them, she recalled.

"When he was 9 months old, he was sitting in his crate and his ears were hanging down over his paws," Wert told the Denver Post.

Harbor's ears still draw a lot of attention from folks who want to take photos or give them a pull, Wert said.

The Guinness folks took notice in time to include Harbor in the 2012 edition of their book for the longest ears on a living dog.

Harbor did fall short of the dog with the longest ears ever: bloodhound Tigger, who boasted more than 27 floppy inches of ear when he departed for doggie heaven in 2009.

MSNBC – Sometimes the only humane thing to do is to put a dog to sleep. Just three weeks ago, Erica Daniel steeled herself to take that difficult step with Harper, a small puppy in her care. Daniel, 26, fosters dogs that need serious help, and Harper had come to her in the most desperate of circumstances. On Aug. 31, a woman in Sanford, Fla., first encountered the little dog when she spotted a squirming garbage bag. “There was a man outside the Save-A-Lot selling pit-bull puppies for $50 a pop,” Daniel explained. “This woman approached him and noticed a noise coming from a garbage bag he was holding. She asked him, ‘What’s in the bag?’ and he said, ‘Don’t worry about it.’ ”The woman pressed the issue and the man opened — and gave her — the contents of the bag. Inside was a puppy so deformed that it couldn’t walk or hold up its head. Shelter workers and veterinarians grimaced when they saw the dog and came to the same conclusion: It really should be euthanized.

That’s when Daniel, a regular at the local animal shelter, stepped in. She decided to take the puppy home for one full and final day of unabashed affection. “I had to show her what it was like to be loved,” Daniel said. “I’d planned on taking her home that night, letting her sleep in bed with us, and having her humanely euthanized in the morning.” What a difference a day can make. Today, Harper is not only alive — she’s thriving. The frisky gray puppy is gaining more and more mobility each day, to the astonishment of onlookers and medical professionals.

Some nice people at Hip Dog Canine Hydrotherapy & Fitness in Winter Park, Fla., heard about Harper and donated free hydrotherapy and massage therapy to the puppy. Harper responded remarkably well, and before long she actually started walking.“She started out on grass, then carpet, then concrete,” Daniel said. “She still can’t walk on tile or hardwood floors, but she’s getting there.” “She’s a walking miracle. She’s a real testament to a dog’s determination to get up and just go.”

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/06/us-greece-dog-idUSTRE7952LX20111006

(Reuters) - There he is, yelping with delight as the youths start hurling chunks of paving stones, barking his admonition at a cordon of cops fending off petrol bombs, sneezing as he scampers through the tear gas.

Meet Sausage the riot dog, an amiable ginger mongrel resident of Syntagma Square in central Athens, who doesn't mind if you show up for a day of mayhem as long as he can join in.

Whenever there's a demonstration, Sausage is there, always taking the side of the protesters and cheerfully lending a sense of comic relief to the occasionally violent proceedings.

It's made him a local celebrity. He's appeared on the front of just about every newspaper in Greece and wagged his tail on TV screens and websites around the world.

On Wednesday when state workers marched against government cuts, Sausage was in his usual spot at the front, egging on the crowd with a hearty "Gav!" (Greek for "Woof!"), tripping up baton-wielding officers as they charged down the steps.

For the record: some people call him Kanellos -- Cinnamon. The Athens municipality, which has known him since 2006 as Dog Number 1842, prefers Loukanikos -- Sausage.

"Loukanikos or Kanellos. These are two of his many names. It's the same individual," said Anna Makri, head of the city's Stray Animal Service. "There's no other Sausage."
