Concorde from JFK to London 4.5 hours. By the time you hop on the bus from London to Stonehenge maybe 3 hrs so not much difference

They tried getting rid of it back in the 1630s...it didn't work out so well...so they brought it back.
The King at one time was the government. The other powerful people used parlament to limit the King's power, through the power to tax.
The current situation is that the government cannot be formed unless the Queen approves though it is unlikely that she would the Queen has the legal power to not accept the PM, who is appointed by the Queen...and is her minister to Parliment.
The current Queen is remembered by those of her generation as an ambulance driver during the blitz and the royals are given credit for their personnel support of the armed forces. All the males have served (as officers) and not as tokens...one of the Crown Princes was in either Iraq or Afganistan in combat until it became too well known that he was there and he was removed to protect his unit from being targeted...
