I think it helps having a stable and successful football program. Kind of like politics, no one wants to give money to a candidate that isn't showing progress, has instability in campaign, a history of scandal, or isn't winning. MSU is looking more and more like a frontrunner and I bet the $$$ has started to trickle in, even where it never had before.
