Why not go with Sprint?

I won't disagree with you, I honestly have no loyalty to any of them.

Speak wisely, Barnes, you could be courting your next big advertiser! [love]

  • I love Verizon except for price but don't think It would be that much cheaper to switch. 2 phones for 162 for unlimited data and texts, 1400 mins and friends and family. Discount from wife's work.

  • I've had Sprint for almost two years, now real problems. Coverage is usually fine, but data can be slow if you get off the beaten trail. Only place I flat out didn't have service was on the MI west coast, outside of Traverse City.

Bottom line is, they are the cheapest and have unlimited data. Eventually unlimited will probably go away (once 4G has mass coverage and their business picks up), but hopefully I can get grandfathered in.

  • Does anyone know if using an iPhone through sprint, can you use the Wifi hotspot feature with the unlimited data plan?

For those complaining about lack of unlimited data, what's holding ya back?

I would not use Sprint ever again where I live. Sprint's signal strength in my area of Raleigh, NC is horrid.

I had Sprint when I lived in the Detroit and generally had no issues. Moved to Raleigh and my house and work only had 2-bars. My house is only 15 miles from downtown and work is 5 miles from downtown. I am not in the boonies. My parents and brother's house here also have weak signals.

So we all ditched Sprint around the same time and went to Verizon. We now get full strength signals almost everywhere. We are much happier with Verizon. Saving a few bucks is not worth it if you can't use the phones because of poor signal strength.

I switched from ATT to Sprint a year and a half ago. My plan is similar to yours: 2 phones, unlimited data and text, 1400 minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile regardless of the other person's carrier...$118 including all fees & taxes, which was about $50 less than the same plan with ATT (with a data limit). Haven't experienced any problems with coverage.

But, I made a mistake getting a Blackberry...looking forward to getting a Droid this December

  • I heard on the radio recently that all four major carriers have been rated similarly by customers. Across the nation there is nothing really distinguishing each of them except their monthly rates.

  • I've been with Sprint for 13 years. Never had any problems and by far are the cheapest. I put 4 family members on my plan this year and we pay $205 for 5 phones, 1400 anytime mins to landlines(all calls to any other cell phone is unlimited), unlimited texts, data. I do have a 25% discount too.

And coverage has been great. I had bars while camping out on a 2 track in the Manistee National Forest.

    No way I would switch.

Looking forward to getting a Galaxy 3 this summer.

  • I have had AT&T and Sprint for work. Sprint is far superior in every way. Haven't had verizon so i cant comment of them.

Your average UofM fan and I have something in common, neither of us went to UofM. Though we do share One major difference, I got Accepted.

  • Also, I pray Sprint doesn't go tits under. I don't feel like paying more for the same service.

I had ATT since the late 90's. Tried Sprint about 10 years ago (while keeping my ATT service) when they had a 30 day return thing going on at Costco. Complete disaster.

Back then the Sprint signal at my home in Troy was 2 bars (max) while ATT's was 5. The Sprint phones would go into roam just a couple miles from the house. Took them back to Costco after 2 weeks and got a refund for the phones. Got a bill from Sprint a couple weeks later for almost $500. Took at least 20 calls (and many hours) to Sprint customer service over the course of 10 months to get the charges removed.

Thankfully this second try with Sprint has gone much better. The cost savings and customer service have more than made up for my frustration with Sprint 10 years ago. The only thing that's sorta weird about Sprint is they bill a month in advance

  • I've had Sprint as long as I've had a cell phone, about 10 years. No billing problems, no dropped calls, no data issues and excellent coverage. With taxes and fees, my monthly bill for unlimited data is $72, including the MSU discount. For those that don't work for MSU, a lot of credit unions have 10-15% off discounts as well.
