Will Zach Novak and Stu Douglass cry like Chris Young after...

  • ...they lose to Ohio? lol

  • I'm not sure how the rest of you feel, but I respect Novak quite a bit. The kid played hard his whole career, and kicked our ass as a junior. Granted it's a rivalry, but it's not like this guy was Mike Hart. Maybe I just respect Beilein and the program now that they do things the right way, after decades of cheating. That being said, Go Bobcats, Owls, Tar Heels, etc.

    I like Novak.

That said, I hope he gets his ass beat.

    And cries.

  • Respect Novak. Respected Young. Felt for Young when he cried.

The way I view it, I hate the fan base, not the kids in the uniforms. Most of them anyway. There are exceptions.

Can't stand Novak. He's a cheap ass thug. Continually puts players in danger by undercutting them on jump shots and especially alley oops and plays like at Arkansas. Doesn't have the talent or speed to get into the right spots so has to be dirty with his play.

No problem with Douglass. Kid has turned himself into a catch and shoot player to someone that is sneaky quick and drive when you aren't expecting it.

That said, I hope they both cry.

This. They will. It's an emotional game, especially when you put four years into it like guys such as Novak and Draymond. The taste of Michigan tears is best when they come from their fans and certain players. Novak works his ass off, despite what some say about being a cheap player, and now that he'll never play MSU again, I have no problem with him.

When the inevitable happens, I say cry on, young man. Cry on.

  • No more talk of anyone liking Novak. No more Novak and draymond comparisons in general.

I'm not comparing him to Draymond. They're four year seniors, that's where the comparison ends.

  • They won't even wanna play basketball no mo...

...which is good because they're not good enough to play anywhere after this.

That's different. Tears of joy: sweet! Tears of bitter defeat: kind of wimpy and funny to opposing fans.

  • Novak whines like a little bitch. Probably because he IS a little bitch.

I did too until I saw his do his undercut thing once too many times. I saw it with MSU, than again against Sulkinger. That kind of stuff is punk-ass, and I would never have a punk on my team. I don't care how many wins I get.

  • Is every white kid who isn't on MSU a "bitch" and "a dirty player?" I have the feeling Austin Thornton would be the devil if he played elsewhere.

Nope. Hummel, Zeller, Northwestern white boys don't seem dirty or bitches.

Hummel took a lot of heat on the old board.

Let's see. The RCMB's hate list over the past few years includes (just guys MSU has played):

    Novak
    Douglass
    Reddick
    Chris Kramer
    Aaron Craft
    Greg Paulus
    Tyler Hansbrough
    Adam Morrison

    I know I'm missing a few too

    Yup.

  • I don't know how someone can get satisfaction out of seeing someone cry after dedicating their lives for four years to something, anything. Defeat sucks. But you don't earn the right to cry about defeat unless you've put your heart into trying to succeed. Give me any four year player in the nation and I'll give him/her a standing ovation when their time is done. Regardless of team. It's rare to see people dedicate themselves to something so passionately for four years and definitely not something to scoff at because of some vendetta, established years ago, when some factory worker made fun of your degree.

  • I have no real problem with Novak, apart from playing for Michigan.
He plays hard with what he's got--in that way he's representative of their program. They have to play with a chip, an edge, because they must out execute their opponents. There are probably five teams with better players in the Big Ten--they have to find a way to make the shots fall--then plan to work in an office after graduation.
