It could be regardless of the outcome vs. IU on Sunday.

Wish IU had a tougher opponent than PSU today. Someone like Iowa who would force them to play hard for 40 minutes.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I really don't like the concept of momentum. How much is momentum worth if MSU beats IU on Sunday but then loses to Illinois? Even if State wins on Sunday, it's only worth 1 win. This is a long season and I just want to see the team play better each game

If we were to win I think the IU loss would be important than the MSU win because you would have put the B1G favorite behind in the race. The effect on IU with regard to their remaining games would be a wonderful thang to behold!

  • What's wrong with all you sad sallies? IU is beatable as Wusconsin showed. Zeller is weak and State can take advantage of that and take IU out of their game.

Win at IU and the B!G is OVER!

Would you say that it would be the most important game in terms of momentum in the regular season? Indiana is a good team and their home court is even better.

With a win, the next few games at home, that look tough, could actually look much easier. Not only would the team be on board with even more confidence, but the country and 'anayists' will start jerkin' Izzo again. And hell maybe even some of you assholes will stop complaining.

With a loss, make no mistake, if you're going to lose on the road to someone it's the 7th ranked team in the US, but don't you think it'll hault momentum? With Payne and BJ finally showing up and Appling playing like he's channeling Lucas-- could it stall things with a loss?

You know that rivalry where you actually RESPECT the opponent? Yeah, it's Indiana to me. (Not our 'protected rivalry' Indiana, but this Indiana)

I really like Crean, but he can suck it come Sunday.

Here's to watching a great game.

    1. I think it can't be underestimated that the kids will be pumped and play even more inspired with the new unis.

    2. I also think it might be time for the OP to retire that username.

  • Needed to split @wisc and @IU and since we already locked that up I hope they play like there's nothing to lose because there really isn't. Play loose and who knows

  • The key to IU is Nix and Payne having a field day against Zeller, much like they ate Sullinger alive last season.

  • A win would be awesome and would give this team a great deal of confidence. However a lose is never a good thing, but it's not going to derail this and make them go into a tailspin. Besides I think we all would be pretty happy with a split in Madison and Bloomington.

  • My biggest concern about this game is that I believe there is no way Nix can hang with Zeller on either end of the floor. Zeller is far to quick for him.. runs the floor as fast as a guard too...has a complete offensive game and is TREMENDOUS on help defense. I don't think Nix can keep up.. even at the opening tip.. let alone later in the game. The rest of the match-ups could be good for State. Dawson is stronger and perhaps more of an athlete than Olidipo has seen all year but Olidipo is a better player than Dawson has seen. PG's? Appling is stronger and more experienced than Yogi Ferrel. Watford at 6-9 is a load at PF for most teams, if he comes to play.. but then when has he had to deal with a 6-10 PF like Payne? The rest of the subs work well against the IN subs though the Hoosiers are deeper in bodies and bodies with significant minutes playe thus far off the bench.

MUCH.. VERY MUCH will depend on how the zebras call the game. MSU is much more physical than IU.. if the refs call it ticky tacky.. forgetaboutit!

Who guarded Zeller last year? Because he was non-existent in the first game we played against Indiana.

  • I'm looking at our remaining schedule and fuuuuuuuuu it's deadly. Even if we play incredible, I wouldn't be disappointed with 4 more losses. Wins in Bloomington, Ann Arbor, Columbus, or West Lafayette are bonuses...lose a tough one against UM, MINN, IU, or Wisc at home. I just can't shake the troubles we will face at Assembly Hall, but obviously IU is not as unbeatable as they were made out to be.
