To 150 mph...a Porsche turbo or a small passenger jet on takeoff?
If I had to guess I'd say the jet.. The Porsche wins of the line but I think the constant acceleration of the jet gets it to 150 first.

even the most powerful of street legal sports cars has a drop off in their acceleration abilities once wind resistance becomes a serious issue....120-150 is a biiig step in a Turbo 911

Didn't Helio Castroneves smoke a passenger jet on a runway in Cleveland a few years ago? It wasn't even close IIRC. Not saying the Porsche is like an Indy car, but it does take time for those jets to get going.

Edit - Read the question.
They generally rotate at 120-140 kts so about 140mph+ but I'd guess they're past 150mph once the wheels are up. Takes a while to get there, I'd bet the car hits 150 first but it'd be close.

Sorry, but I just cheated. I took my Porsche and jet out to the back neighborhoods and timed them both. The jet got to 150 mph faster.

Id guess the porsche. I seem to recall watching a video a long time ago where a sports car or a sport bike beat an f-18 to a certain speed.
Depends on the porches too. Is it a 1998? Or is it the new turbo which hits 0-60 in like 2.8 seconds or some shit? A twin turbo Ford GT just hit 220 some mph in less than a mile.

The car.....It takes a long, long time for a large turbojet to spool up to full RPMs for maximum power. It will be a closer race if you allow the jet to have full brakes and get up to full RPMs before you drop the green flag, now if by a "small passenger jet" we include a number of corporate jet models a few of them may win.

That's what I meant. Basically the jet is doing like it does on a normal takeoff. I still say the jet gets to 150 first just because the car starts to slow it's acceleration when it gets up near 100.
