  • I miss Stroh's.

oh my...........there's a blast from the past: use to drink 30 packs in high school: fire brewed indeed: my ahole would be on fire the next morning. I seem to vagely recollect a "stroh's beer ball" as well. Cheap plastic keg/ball o' beer. GOOD TIMES. ..........That is until the next morning.blank

I'll give you guys one more from the past: Goebbel's........use to jokingly call it the "french beer"........holy fuck was it bad. $7 a case at Jewel/Osco in the late 80's......right down there with some of the worst beers of all time: PBR, Black Label, Hamm's, Olympia, Falstaff, Red, White and Blue, Natty light, Busch..........ahhhhhhhhhhhh yes..........let's talk CHEAP beer my friends!

bud light, if given the choice bud light or millter lite, take miller every time.

would rank the mass Labatt>Coors>Miller>bud light

People hating on Miller Lite must not like triple hops.

Miller Lite is the best of the light beers.

  • Once I get my buzz on, I will probably drink any of that shit in huge excess, black out and then leave my credit card at the bar.

Don't ask why- I just don't like Coors

  • All the mass marketed beers, Buds, Millers, Busch's are pretty much pisswater.

There are plenty of good American beers, Sam Adams, Bells, Yuengling, etc, etc.

  • I am generally a beer snob, but if there is a bunch of Miller Lite to drink, I am totally fine with it. I am not above admitting that I actually enjoy it. High Life too.

Bud Light, no. It tastes metallic or something. Bud gets my vote for the worst.

  • So I am a beer snob, but I started out on the mass marketed bull s beer...

There is little discernible difference between bud light and miller lite.... Coors is a little more watery, but still, line those 3 up and there nearly identical.

The massed produced beer I hate has and always will be heineken. That stuff is horse piss on a hot day.

    The Matador

  • All light beer. I will go with Bud Light, because it is the most popular.

  • Coors by a mile. though Keystone is completely undrinkable as well. And I like a cold cheap beer on a hot day.

I drink a fair amount of Heineken, but I agree that it's not the greatest. Definitely not worth the money it costs.

I prefer quadruple hops. Triple hops are just not quite enough for me.

PBR - just thinking about that sweet hipster swill is making my taste buds hurt.

For those bashing the High Life - you poor, misguided souls.

I used to hate PBR with a passion, but I actually have come to enjoy it. A 30 pack is dirt cheap, and it's actually very drinkable for me now and has a lot of flavor.

  • 1) All lawnmower beer
    2) Any light beer
    3) Any beer that has to advertise itself on television.

    In that order.

  • Too much mass produced beer makes me feel like complete shit the next day. A huge benefit of micros is that they are hangover free and a much better buzz to boot. That being said I will enjoy an occasional beer like bud light on a hot summer day after some yard work.

Heineken is drinkable if it's ice cold, but once it warms up at all it tastes stale and skunky. Of course, a lager I do like is Stella Artois and a lot of ppl think that's nasty too, so.. shrug

I have that issue with pretty much any mass marketed beer. I haven't really developed a taste for microbrews yet (or haven't found one I like) so I drink the crap, and I hate it when it gets warm so I slug it. End up spending too much money if I stick to beer all night.

Loobis, you're okay - but you ought to drop the "I am not above admitting that I actually enjoy it." Raytooth and Matador, here's what's fucked up about you:

By looking down your noses at regular American beer, you're adding a hoity-toity, prissy pretense to what is one of our truly great guy activities: drinking beer. Beer-drinking isn't meant to do while wearing a bowtie at a cotillian, crossing your sharply-creased pantlegs and keeping your pinky extended. It's meant to do after changing your oil. lifting a leg to let out a five-second fart, and scratching your balls.

Leave the snobbery to those areas where it fits: wine, fashion, and interior decorating. And when you see another guy drinking a beer, don't worry about the label - just ask him if he has one for you.

The question is "worth mass marketed beer" - I don't think PBR is mass marketed. In fact, aside from a billboard in my hipster-esque neighborhood, I don't really ever recall seeing ads for it. The mass marketed beers are really only Bud / Bud Lite, Miller Lite, Coors, and other mass produced domestic beers.

In my opinion, they're all pretty much the same. On a hot day, an ice cold Bud, Bud Lite, Miller Lite, or Coors can be pretty phenomenal. I really don't buy them much but they're really not that bad, if ice cold and under certain circumstances.

I believe this ordering is true as well. However. after a hockey game when I am parched from playing hard, I find that for some reason, Miller=Bud=Coors...they all taste the same (which may speak to how they're all made...)

  • I can't tell the difference between Bud Light, Coors Light and Miller Lite anymore, either. They're all the same--ricewater.

Just because something has "more taste" doesn't mean it is better. I will take something with less taste than something with lots of bad taste any day of the week.

  • Anyone else get absolutely terrible headaches the next morning when drinking Coors on tap? I can't drink the stuff, splitting headache the very next morning even if I only have 2.
