I have paid for every song and movie I own. That's probably very odd for this group but that's just who I am.

I'm willing to bet that you've viewed or listened to content you didn't pay for

    I'd take that bet. I don't think I have...at least knowingly.

  • The OP and gHost are completely douchetastic on this one. It is really simple .... if you believe the cost us too high for the product or service at issue, then you either find a cheaper legal source or you go without. The idea that you are entitled to something belonging to someone else without paying the stated price is crazy (and illegal, as counselor gHost is most certainly aware).

Way to represent the Green and White.

  • So where does the chastising end? Is bringing your own "illegal" food into a movie a scornful thing to do, RCMB morality police?

I would say no, because that food is legally yours. Attending a movie you did not pay for is very different.

What do you think the MSU compilations that include footage contain? Are you really that stupid? Have you ever made a mixed tape for a chick? Have you ever received a mixed tape or CD? Have you ever borrowed a movie from a friend? Please tell me that you're joking.

God, you're an idiot.... First of all, I don't think either the OP or me cited an inability to pay for the movies we allegedly "steal" - In my example, it's simply convenience. Why should I be bothered to walk out of the movies, buy a ticket, go back in, wait in line again, and deal with the hassle when I can easily just walk into another movie. It has nothing to do with cost. And, as I noted, I have no problem buying an extra box of Dots or something else to help compensate the movie theatre. They're showing the movie anyway, so whether there's 5 or 500 people in the movie it's completely irrelevant. Furthermore, how am I representing the Green and White? I'm just an ordinary citizen taking a few liberties.

Lighten up, Francis. The OP asked for our opinions, not validation.

I only found two videos of this specific quote on Youtube. One was too quiet and the other seemed to chop off the word "law" a little bit, so I've taken the liberty of doing it without either of those things. = D

Sweet reply counselor, I appreciate your evaluation of my intellect.

But you have reading comprehension fail. I didn't say you couldn't afford (I know what a baller you are). I said you chose not to accept the stated price. If it were mere convenience as you alleged, did you square up with the ticket office on your way out? Or was your time so valuable that wasn't acceptable to you either?

If you allege to be a Spartan and brag/confess to stealing movie tickets on a message board, you represent MSU poorly.

Seems like the best way to describe him. Of course, if he's over the age of 15, I'd say he's also pretty pathetic.

I haven't seen a movie in 20 years that made me think, after 2 hours, I want to do that again right now

More like, I may not do that again for 6 months

  • Surprised by the hard line responses here. I always thought ducking in to watch another movie was along the lines of sipping coke and refilling the cup before paying for your Big Gulp, or reading someone's leftover newspaper.

where you pay to go watch one movie, then end up watching 3 or 4 by slipping into the next rooms? I did that today and it was awesome, though was kinda afraid og getting caught. Was bored and noone else was free...saw safe house, this means war, chronicle, and ghostrider 2. Felt like i paid 10$ for a ticket, and the prices are too high for popcorn and such so they arent gonna lose that much money. What does everyone else think?

    PS-

Safe House was awesome...Washington as god as always, and reynolds was surprisingly good this means war was pretty funny...but cliched chronicle was awesome...it was like super 8, but cooler and more thought provoking ghostrider 2 was just BAD...but atleast the flaming skull looked cool

Years ago went to see Beavis and Butthead Do America, and the group I was with talked me into going into a showing of Mars Attacks!

I didn't feel too bad afterward because Mars Attacks! was a movie I would never have paid the 1996 going rate to see. shrug

Went with a coworker years ago to a dollar theater (Southfield between 10 and Civic Center, now gone) to see Hand That Rocks The Cradle. She talked me into hopping into a showing of The Lawnmower Man afterward. Again not a film I would have paid even a $1 to see.

But still I felt pretty slimy both times. It is a ridiculous practice especially with so many ways to watch films nowadays. Just go home and watch movies for free there.

lol Response from the typical RCMB fairy... defending billion dollar companies because someone snuck into another movie and then trying to say it's a poor reflection on MSU.... hard to find a bigger boner than this guy lol

  • Spent a whole summer doing doing that while at a summer internship in Colorado. Not one of my prouder moments but when the guys you're with have the car, your choice is either to sit in the lobby for 2 hours or sit in a theater.

I'm pretty sure you could buy tickets to all the movies you wanted to see on your first pass through the ticket line. Hell, you could even buy and print the tickets online from your home.

I am afraid that the whole world is closer to moral foreclosure.
