I thought 21 hours looked low for that drive, used Google Maps...that's 1 day and 6 hours. You're not doing that straight through.

I did a 30 hour drive between Lansing and Edmonton. I only stopped for gas and coffee. I didn't plan it this way, but I was feeling good and just kept going.

Not worth it to have to come back 48 hrs later. You will be miserable while there since you will be exhausted and you won't have the energy for the return trip.

With $4 gas, a plane would pRobably be cheaper.

I done a couple really long drives. I try and pick up a hitchhiker to pass some time. Done it twice now

Seriously, gas is $4 a gallon. It's cheaper, faster, and easier to fly unless you're transporting something they wouldn't allow on a plane.

I've done that and driven cross-country straight through except to stop for gas, bathroom, and quick food. However i stayed longer than 48-hours as well.

Hell I usually see one a year when I drive from GA to MI for a football game (don't pick em up though b/c I got 2 kids and a wife in the car)

I like driving long trips by myself. I make a game out of it to see how quickly I can make it. I left Rochester at about 5 am and made it to Tampa a little after 11 pm. I only made stops to get gas and would pick up some fast food while filling up.
