lol at Huge suggesting that Nix is being paid

  • I don't think it's his car anyways, unless its new. He normally drives a suburban or tahoe, or one of those big SUVs.

  • The kid went to Pershing. I'm wondering as well where that car came from.

Is the board suffering from Mad Men hangovers. Is this place stuck in 1966 today ?

    Viable question.

Everyone is trying to make it about race but it's not. If this was a kid who went to U of D or Cranbrook I don't even know if this would be a question. But I mean, there's not a lot of Chargers driving around the 7 mile and Ryan area.

  • Makes sense. Today he was damned near orgasmic about the possibility of Burke returning for his soph year and was talking up how he was having some umaa football coach on hs show and that was all in the 15-20 seconds I heard as I punched the button not realizing that Rome was over.

We can all email Izzo and let him know what crap his "friend" Izzo is spewing.

    I edited my post above.

But yeah, just speaking from my personal experience...there's not a lot of Chargers driving around the 7 mile and Ryan area being driven by 20 year old kids. It's not like there's a ton of 2011 vehicles in the Pershing parking lot (at least when I drive by). I have no idea of Nix' background and maybe his family has been stacking money to send him to college forever and his reward for getting a scholarship to msu was a brand new Dodge Charger. Maybe they're secretly rich and just live humbly, although that would seem to go against the "family buying him a dodge charger" theory. Maybe somebody died and he got a big inheritance or insurance payment and it was his purchase. There are plenty of explanations. I'm just saying I'm not surprised that some people are wondering where a Dodge Charger came from

Izzo should not go on this clown's show.

I trust someone from our AD is advising Izzo of this nonsense.

  • Chrysler is being very aggressive with leases. You can lease an RT (about $29,000 sticker) for $285-290/month (including taxes) .

Given Nix has been on a full ride its very possible for a family member to come up with $300/month to cover a lease.

Simonson is a bottomdwelling troll. He'd damn near sell his soul for ratings.

  • Wow just wow. I have seen some of the cars the the football players drive and they are shit. Granted they are not basketball players, but odds are if the basketball players are getting money for cars so would the football players. I was at QD on Harrison right before the Wisconsin game and this beat to hell Ford Taurus almost hit my car as I'm pulling into a parking spot. I park my car next thing I know the driver of the car is walking over to me to apologize. The driver was Mylan Hicks. About five minutes later when I'm about to leave a beat to hell Cadillac Coupe Deville pulls in. Out of the car walks Edwin Baker. That was enough proof to me that there is no way any of the players here get money from boosters.

    This.

Suton used to drive a new Ford Focus. His parents lived in south Lansing, where is the outrage over that?

The kid was driving a Dodge Charger This is the 2012 version of the Dodge Stratus. We live in Michigan too. I wouldn't put it past a family or friend giving Derrick the family and friends discount coupon either. A lease is not hard to pay for when you are no longer paying for Derrick's food, school or living arrangements.

  • I do believe they get the balance of their full ride per year whether they use it all or not. His scholly includes room and board and if he lives off campus he is still entitled to the money in the form of a check. These guys don't live in dorms for 4 years they have to have rent money some how. I had a friend from high school that pitched for scum and he recieved 1000 per month as part of his ride. That was 14 years ago. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this.

  • There are so many losers out there with radio shows or blogs or what ever who think they're important. I hope Huge doesn't have a journalism degree or consider himself a "journalist" or anything. Does he do any research or just talk his own opinion? Unfortunately in this age any small thing someone says in a blog can be blown up on the internet... type_angry

I tutored athletes at Clara Bell Smith and although the figures escape me, I remember thinking that it was a generous amount that they were granted for living expenses. If you lived like a normal college student you'd definitely have some left over.

Lots of people asking about the 2011 Dodge Charger in the Nix story. For the record, it is registered to a Barbara Pettway of Detroit.
