    I tutored athletes at Clara Bell Smith and although the figures escape me, I remember thinking that it was a generous amount that they were granted for living expenses. If you lived like a normal college student you'd definitely have some left over.

    It does have to do with race. Some people on this board are trying to figure out how a kid from Detroit can own a car that costs 250$ a month. Like 250$ is a lot of money. I worked in the cafe maybe about 25 hrs a week and could have easily afford a car for that much. So an athlete who gets a monthly stipend could easily afford a charger.

    BTW tons of people from Detroit buy and drive new cars! It isn't hard to afford a lease on a charger. Not like he id driving a 7 series bmw.

    Given Nix has been on a full ride its very possible for a family member to come up with $300/month to cover a lease.

    Simonson is a bottomdwelling troll. He'd damn near sell his soul for ratings.

    Not to mention the fact that Nix is on a strict diet, so when he gets the meal money on trips, he is no longer spending it on junk.

    Trust me, I know someone who was involved with the program and was working his butt off cutting film, setting up walk throughs, preping whatever needed to be done, so they got the NCAA per diem and never had a chance to even get something to eat.

    At the end of the season, he bought a brand new big screen TV with the money and this was 7-10 years ago.

    I am not saying this is what happend, but it is possible. Personally, I dont care. I have a feeling Izzo has a pretty good handle on things such as this.

    Until the program releases some sort of explanation for where Nix was and whose car he was driving, they are going to be subject to these sorts of questions.

    Hollis said today that there won't be any comment until legal proceedings are complete.

    That may not fly in this case.

    I stopped listening to this blowhard a while back. Who else sponsors? He always talks about miller light so avoiding that is no problem

    Why would that be feeding the fire?! It's not a leap in logic to suggest the car belonged to the family of a passenger, who happens to be a fellow student from Detroit. If you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.....

  • Nix has come on strong and is a hell of a player, but the idea that of all the talent Izzo has brought in, HE is the recruit MSU would start cheating over is as laughable as any other scenario they can dream up.
