mgoblog admits Mark Hollis owns David Brandon

    Boise State is a 2 for 1 I believe.

@ Boise State in 2022, home again in 2023.

I bet Hollis found an old buy-1-get-1-free coupon from the 1990s before Boise got good that had no expiration date on it. Brilliant move!!! Once again he proves he is the best AD in college athletics!

I agree that BSU-MSU will be the biggest game on Friday night. lol

I mean they will be hyping MSU-BSU all week since it is in their best interest. Our game will get plenty of coverage, and I'm pretty sure that MSU's new scoreboard will be trending on Twitter Friday night.

While our game is a big game, you can't deny that both Michigan and Alabama are bigger names than both BSU and MSU. Ours will probably be hyped very little. ESPN and everyone else will be trying to convince the nation that UA vs UofM is a matchup of national title contenders.

. . . and then the game will start and the viewing audience will see that tWWL got it half right.

  • I wouldn't be too happy with the fact that the National Media will be focused on that game if I were a Michigan supporter...Not something I would push my chest out about.

Besides, MSU's game being played on a different night, basically kicking off the CFB season will garner enough attention on it's own. MSU will make money on it, and our fan base will be given a nice treat. i'm happy with that, and really don't care that the Michigan Alabama game will garner a bit more national attention.

As I season ticket holder, I'm glad that we're playing at the directional schools. I'd rather not pay $45 for a lousy game. Plus, MSU is going to get some big goodwill out of these games.

The early road game experience for Maxwell will be huge. Don't discount that. Especially if injury limits his practice time this summer.

Volunteering once certainly implies begging these days I suppose. Though I'll try to feign surprise on a skewed history from someone who routinely injerects his extremely biased opinion on any subject in which he fancies himself an expert.

Pardon me for responding to you the only way you seem to comprehend.

Says the guy with 8800 posts to the guy with under 2000 posts. Guess in your mind you must be quite the expert on a number of subjects.

And if you think you volunteried just once to Trevor, you're as delusional as um fans. He turned you down a few times to be a mod before you cried and begged.

  • Reading that, Brandon seems terribly unqualified for the job. All he knows is marketing, not finance. Should've stuck with slingin' shitty pizzas, Dave. That's more your speed.

Will the second BSU team be of equal or lesser competitiveness?

Other than bitching about the band -- a legit complaint -- any scummers whining about this game are missing the point.

They're playing in the premier college football game of the opening weekend, in front of a gigantic primetime audience, and it's going to be hyped to nauseating levels. You know how people say "Recruits are gonna love this!!!!!" over the smallest, most insignificant shit? Know what recruits are really gonna love? Opportunities to play in games like this one. And the money? They're not exactly hard up for athletic funds in Ann Arbor.

Alabama recruits are going the love watching scum getting carried off on stretchers. Scum recruits... Not so much.

I think their falling on the philosphy that any press is good press, but that doesn't always apply.

Their going to be featured as part of ESPN's continued SEC slurping unless and until they beat Alabama...they're counting on alot of if's

Well it's either going to show Michigan recruits that they aren't as close to a national championship as they've been told or it's going to allow them to pitch "this is why we need you to commit" I have a feeling that even though Michigan should get completely pantsed in this game, they won't and then it'll be like UofM basketball "We almost beat Duke! We're going to the Final Four next year!"

What a classy response from a guy who had to beg Trevor numerous times to become a mod.

Once a douchebag, always a douchebag.

Is he a Rod? I thoughts Rods were held to a higher standard?

I could do without the FCS schools that have been added to the schedule under Hollis since MSU was one of the last schools to schedule an FCS, but I guess that is a necessary evil in college football.

I don't particularly love his "Celebrate the State" scheduling, either, but financially it makes sense to throw a bone at Western and Central and allow them to have a rare home game against MSU. I don't agree with giving a home game to Eastern, though. They have done nothing to deserve it.

Otherwise, the future schedules look good to me. Oregon will be a nice home-and-home in a few years with the brief hiatus of the Notre Dame series.

What does a school do to deserve that?

After seeing spring game highlights, I think there is a better chance they get pasted, on the road, that early in the season, depending on a lot of new young starters.

tOSU is not Michigan, and Michigan is not tOSU. This deal screams of Alabama AD pulling a fast one over on the incredibly inexperienced Brandon. A more experienced AD like Hollis or Smith at tOSU, would never had entered this deal.

I told Michigan fans that Brandon would be learning on the job. Tnis is an example of a growing pain they're going to have to endure. While there are similarities between running a large corporation and running an Athletic Department, there are also major differences. You can't run a major althletic department fully like a production corporation. Brandon is still learning. He may turn out all right in the long run if Michigan fans can deal with his initially goofs like this one, but their going to continue to be patient.

It'll be interesting to see how the fan base reacts to Brandon if their program takes a step back. He has now hired two high profile coaches. Hoke, and their new WBB coach...

You had me until right there...the women's BBC is not high profile.

However, your point is good. Brandon lucked into a worthless BCS bowl, but all the stooges can only see the letters "BCS" and they're thrilled. They've got Robinson this year, and his legs will carry the team to whatever they achieve--which could be good or not (the line(s) are pretty anemic). Next year, though, we'll see.

The whole "Michigan is back" thing is such a crock, though. The big 2 and little 8 is dead, along with 7-8 sure wins every year. UM will now be fighting for every conference win, with very few non-conference breathers. The landscape has forever changed. RR scared the living s**t out of them, and UM hired a safe pick hoping it will get them the 9-11 win season year in and year out. We'll see how it worked.

I wrote that because i really dont know if he's hired any coaches outside of Hoke and the chick coach last week... And to some around here, Suzy has a pretty high Profile...and MSU has a decent commitment to WBB...not sure how it is in Ann Arbor.

Michigan is so committed to WBB that their coach decided to leave and return to Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

    Now, softball... that's another story.

Ah! That Ath Dept. is a joke!

I thought softball is only relevant if they are good and football isn't.

They actually have one of the greatest swimming programs in NCAA history, but you rarely hear about it...Gymnastics too.

Baseball is decent there...it was better, but that program ended up being fairly dirty.

I wonder what will happen to hockey when Red retires and the next guy turns out to be less than Red (those are big shoes to fill)?

They seem to have a proven track record of apathy for less than successful endevors (i.e. Basketball doesn't matter).
