lol harris tries the all oop to valentine just couldn't finish it. App steals the ball takes it right to the the defense goes to the line.

Harris is a more polished player and a better athlete, but Valentine is such a unique talent, I see 2 stars.

Solid first half after some early turnovers. Love what I'm seeing out of the Harris/Valentine combo, and Costello looks like he'll be a nice addition to the rotation.

I'm loving the Appling, Harris, Valentine, Dawson, AP line up. Seems to play good d, especially on the perimeter. Also seems to run smoothly on the offensive end. Mostly they are just fun to watch. Appling is a good passer, Valentine is a GREAT passer, and Dawson has been better than I thought.

MSU has 8 assists, Valentine has 4 of them. Southern only shooting 22%. The only disturbing thing in this game so far is they have 15 rebounds and we have 16.

I know we're supposed to be a "running" team but we force it way too much on the fast break. Why is it so hard to just pull back and run your offense when there's nothing there? Doing so would eliminate a lot of our turnovers. Definitely pleased with our all-around play though.

Valentine is a lot further along than I thought he'd be at this point. He's going to be a special player. Harris is silky smooth and polished. Costello looks like he will contribute this year too.
Harris is about what I expected, just a great talent. Valentine is going to be an all time Spartan IMO, if he stays 3 or 4 years and develops his game he will be a great NBA player too. He's already thinking the game on the level of very good NBA play makers. He's a big enough offensive threat too that his passing will be all the more effective. Very exciting.
I don't think we've ever had as talented of a pair of freshmen as Harris and Valentine.

Personally, I'd rate Valentine much higher than 2 stars. Four stars minimum.

Appling and Valentine have done this a few times tonight. I agree with you though especially when it's dawson or a big with the ball unless it's a clear break away dunk. most of our turnovers seem to be when we either force it into the post or when guys in the post lose the ball. 3 of our TO's were from AP and Nix being really weak with the ball.

If that shot comes along Valentine is going to be a tough matchup, 6-5 point guard who can dish.
