tO$U hit with one year bowl ban

  • Only allowed 82 scholarship players on the roster for the next three years. I think it should have been harsher since it was the programs second infraction in less than 10 years. I think 15 scholarships over three years would have been more appropriate. Plus, I think the bowl ban should have been two years since they should not have been allowed to play in the Sugar Bowl last year. I hope we can pound them next year to pay them back for screwing us out of the Rose Bowl last year. If the sanctions would be in place, like they should have, we're in the Rose Bowl, Wiscky is probably in the Sugar.

  • Urban Meyer has been rejected. 4 star Cyrus Jones has turned down a visit to OSU. Now its btwn Saban and VaTech for Jones. The Legend is rejected.......OMG

  • I think um and Wisky both take big steps back next year. Wisky without Wilson and Ball and um loosing Molk/Martin without anyone to anchor the lines.

Nebraska gets Crick back and should be strong. Looking forward to that game in EL.

BSU game will be big with 2 new QB's at schools that have had multi-year starters. I think our D-strength and O-line strength (go figure) will allow Maxwell the time to develop with the young receivers. I really like Maxwell's arm and he should have time in the pocket. As mentioned we will get tosu early and at home.

How does it play if we go to Indy again, beat um again and tosu goes away in November. Gives Coach D a lot of momentum in recruiting and we have more depth now then I can remember. In the last 2 years we have lost Gantt, Celek and Linthicum at TE and we are discussing whether we get an upgrade with Sims. In the recent past we would be hoping for a miracle.

Again, looking forward to being in EL for Nebraska and Indy. Hoping Wisky makes it there as well.

As far as penalties, it will hurt them. Was it enough...its never enough.

  • It will be a beautiful thing to get that talent, get that depth, and then bring on the easy scheduling (2013-2014) when they're upperclassmen. Salivate!

actually, I rather impressed with the NCAA on this one. I truly expected them to just accept O$U's self imposed sanctions and not add on.

It would have been better news if the NCAA didn't make the insane decision allowing them 2 coaching staffs for recruiting season.

Wait. What? Ball is on track to break the single season TD record. RBs have the shortest shelf-life of any NFL position; there are only so many total carries a guy has in him. It makes 0 sense for him to stay another year. He's had a huge year and his stock won't get any higher. Recall that he had 18 TDs on the ground last year.

Good for him. He is a system player. Not one RB from Wisconsin has had what I would call a serious career. Michael Bennett is probably the closest. Dayne, PJ Hill, Clay all busts or didn't even make a squad. I don't see him as a first round pick this year and maybe not even a second round pick. Would definitely take Richardson, Lamar Miller, Chris Polk and LaMichael James all before Ball.

Yeah but I'm really worried about Maxwell and the WRs. Hell, I can't name more than 3 of them. Ok, maybe I can but I'm not giddy about Chinadoll Fowler, Mumphrey, and Caesar/Kings/Burbridge/Juco/whomever.

Chinadoll? Of course you would steal a line from walverine trash like karsh. He has had one injury, but I'm sure he's super fragile just like that soft bitch skyler Burkland

I don't think there is anything systematic about Oregon's offense. It's pretty freelance from the moment they lineup and LMJ isn't running between the tackles 9 times out of 10 like Ball.

Totally agree, Gene Smith is one the most arrogant people I have ever seen. He botched the whole thing from the get go. But at the same time had we self-imposed a bowl ban this year the NCAA could and probably would have made it 2 years which would include this year. I wish we wouldn't have taken the invite to the Gator Bowl to begin with, now we are pretty much letting all of those that were involved in the whole ordeal play in a bowl game and taking it out on next years team. Pretty sickening if you ask me. If I were Fickell I would tell Posey, Adams and Herron good riddance and not even let them go to the Gator Bowl.

    Respect.

Agree, but there's no doubt it's the exception rather than the rule...and they need that exception to occur twice in the same season. It's a tall order.

That's 3 players in 20 years, and not one of them was better than average as a frosh. And each one was on a different team, years apart.

  • We got hit worse than that in the late 70's for letting assistant coaches use a boosters credit card to put tires on his car.
They should fold the NCAA and hire Judge Judy to handle the discipline of cheaters. The Big Ten Network could televise it and fans from other Big Ten schools could take turns cross-examining Tressel and Prior. We would get a fairer result and probably good Neilson ratings.

I wonder if tressel is wishing today that he had ratted out Gee and Smith, who surely knew everything public and then some.

Probably got a payment not to, not expecting the show cause from the NCAA.lol
