Or maybe it will just be VAN v. LA and STL v. SJ in the first round. I know that the regular season doesn't matter in playoff time, but I'm thrilled that the Blues have drawn the Sharks. Dominated them all year and hopefully they can remember that next week.

Giguere for the Ducks, Kiprusoff for the Flames, and Ranford/Roloson (can't remember which one) for the Oilers immediately come to mind. Each team made the cup finals, and I think they were all 8 seeds.
Halak is the backup in St. Louis.

I feel like a kid on the night before Christmas. I seriously cannot wait for tomorrow night. Other than MSU football and basketball, there is nothing better than Red Wing playoff hockey.

I like your pick of LA over Vancouver. They split the regular season series 2-2. That would be HUGE for Detroit, especially if the Hawks beat Phoenix. I'd kill for a second round series against Chicago.

We Wings fans know we are spoiled when we can make comments like that. This year makes 21 straight years of making the playoffs. Yes, it has sucked not making it past the second round the last couple years, but if you can't be stoked that we are starting our 21st straight playoff run, then you need to take a step back and look at it from a different perspective.
