Does the tower block the sun out any?

Not for a noon game. The only time it sucks is in September/early oct for noon games. The closer to the corner the sooner in the shade.

  • As long as you had your tickets paid for IN FULL by May 1st, you should be getting an email today or sometime soon. Sounds like most of us received ours today.

  • so with the probable majority on may 30th.....is this just going to be a mad scramble at 12:00 am to try and find seats? We are relegated to getting the uppers, but I want the home uppers...to get 4 together is probably going to be difficult

  • I wouldn't worry about being relegated to the upper deck. Remember, there are thousands of NEW season ticket holders this year that have yet to claim seats and they're behind all of us 5/30 people. Inevitably some people did not renew last year and inevitably some people are keeping their current seats, so I'm sure there will be decent lowers available.

  • Sec 20, just under the upper deck...our 8 seats arent moving, so if you wanted lower bowl under the overhang, sorry. and if you are in similar seats and want to move closer/lower, you're welcome.

  • One nice thing about the visitor side is you usually get some shade as the sun starts setting during 330 games. And I don't like the seatbacks. The back is directly on line with the bench, so no overhang. If you are not short this means your knees will be directly into someone's back. Also, the backs are too upright, no slouching. They are nice for cold games though.

May 15th through May 30th depending on your priority. I'd venture a guess you will be May 30th. But, don't guess find out for certain.

shouldn't renewals get priority over new ticket holders? Mine is May 30th, but I'm renewing, do I have to fight with all the new ticket holders for seats at midnight?

  • Our season tickets through the 80's, 90's, and 00's took us all over the stadium. I generally preferred the lower bowl corner, near one end-zone. 50-50 shot to see the big plays.

As for worst seat, there was one season, about 1992 in the lower bowl opposite from the MAC smokestack. I was in 9th or 10th grade. This guy in front of me was a new season ticket holder. He had a little skin condition that produced a few flakes on his head. It wasn't too bad. Just a little gross. However, the fourth game into the season, it was about 88 degrees out. The guy was wearing a t-shirt and shorts and you could see his skin flaked around his back and arms.

I was hungover from a long night of partying. I bought a Dominoes mini pizza to help fend off my sickness. As I opened my box, the guy leaned forward, a flake about the size of silver dollar lifted off his back, and floated like a feather right onto my pizza. My dad and I both watched it in slow motion, then looked at each other like W..T..F? Needless to say, I didn't want another pizza because my appetite was long gone.

We ended up switching our season ticket seats after that season.

I really don't know. I'm technically "new" and I have a 30th time slot. I did have several back to back season tickets through school so I have a few points, but not many and its been years since I had season tickets. There is an Excel Spreadsheet somewhere with the timeline for ticket selections based on priorities, I cannot find it on the website right now.

    Side Question:

Seat Backs? Great comfort (especially for kids/wives) and helps keep your fair share of the seat; or PITA and not comfortable?

Nice to sit on. Absolute hell if you are tall with long legs and sitting behind them!

Our 4 in Row 61 aren't moving either.

I have always felt there seems to be a bit more scoring at our end of the field, most in part because we are usually downwind. I wonder how I would document that theory ?

  • I sat in the NW corner and did not mind it it (Denard's pick six came right at us). Since the south endzone is so big and and has the student section, it makes SS seem a lot more intimidating being able to look out at it as oppose to the view from the student section towards the north. That is just my opinion.

I actually would NEVER have one (Chair back) because of the well-documented issue of being hell on the knees of anyone taller than 6ft. However I like sitting behind someone that has one, because it gaurantees no butt overhang from the person in front.

As far as the benefit from ensuring you have your seat, I just bring a simple seat cushion. If anyone's ass is tresspassing on my 16inches of seat space, I politely (at first) inform them they need to move, and the fact that someone is in their seat, is not my problem. They need to handle the issue with their own ticketed seat. Once people stand when the game starts, it usually works itself out anyway....

This concerns me also as i am in the same situation as you. A friend of mine is buying season tickets for the first tine ever and has the same selection date 5/30. Hmmm.

  • I've sat in the first row of the upper deck, midfield, for a couple of games. Can't imagine more awesome seats to watch football. Really, if you are between the 30s and within the first 5 rows of the rail, the viewing is great.

It haunts me to this day. Every time I take my seat at any stadium, the first thing I do is inspect the person in front of me.

  • I wonder how it will all go down with it be OPTIONAL. Basketball they cleared all seats and started with the top donor. So for a hypothetical, somebody with a May 30th log in time has tickets already and I'm assuming they will be blocked off as TAKEN until they log on, cuz the system doesn't know if they are keeping or giving them back. So lets say they have 50 yard line tickets and are planning to give them up due to the seat fee. Those seats will show TAKEN until May 30th? I know chances are slim with 50 yard line tickets and a May 30th date, but there may be good lower corners that are swapped for someplace else at all times.

Seems like with the OPTIONAL process tickets will be coming on and off the board at all times. So even though you jump on at Midnight, does that mean you will get the best when some guy at 9am logs on and gives up his 50 yard line ones?

you can log and see what is available as many times as you want, but you can only change seats once. no need to change at midnight if you don't see the seats you want.

Right.....but my time is May 22nd at Midnight. When do I pull the trigger then......I check at midnight, check again an see decent seats at 10am on May 22nd so I lock those in. Then 2 days later somebody releases better ones. Its not really based on donor level since the seat moving is optional and tickets will be held until they release. So anytime you log on you will see seats that are supposedly taken but could be released.

With the basketball you logged on and saw all that were available and since the whole arena was wiped clear and people locked theirs down in order there was no chance of center court lowers coming available later.

This is why my friends and I got them this year. Last year Michigan and Wisconsin the row was completely crowded. It pretty much defines your spaces and is also nice for your back (and butt).

Love the seat backs for this reason. Wouldn't do without them.

I might give them a try. Trying to get the wife more interested in the games and this should help her comfort. One downside is I also plan to take the youngsters to a couple of games and the boy likes to stand on the bench to see better - harder to do with a seat back.
