Would faking a deke be considered a deke? My head just exploded

I know many of you could care less about the growth of the game here in Nashville, but here is a great article form Grantland about hockey, Nashville, and changing southern tradition over the last generation. Accurately describes that effect that GM and midwest transplants have had on the growth of the sport down here. I'll warn you ahead of time, it is very long.

This may be true. I don't have the game taped and can't go back to see it, but I know the rule was put in place (from what I understand) to prevent guys late in one-goal games from simply dropping on all fours and wasting time then playing it with their hand to safety. If the opposing face-off man touches it first, it would seem logical that he could play it with his hand. Like I said, I don't know everything and don't know the exact wording on the rule so it could be. Either way, as you pointed out, it's a moot point now. A lot of guys, in addition to Pav, have been called for that penalty this year.

If the Wings can get anything from the game today, that would be big. The next six games are as follows, home against Colorado and Edmonton, home and home against CBJ and then at Calgary and Edmonton. I'd love for them to go into that stretch with some momentum so they can really make hay and create some separation from the middle of the pack.
