  • This game may be good but it is annoying at the same time.
    - Some how magically got into script mode twice and both times i had to "end task" and lose all my progress.
    - What is the key sequence to exit that shit ?
    - Same engine as BG, it takes away from playabuility and sacrifices good game play and good story to try and look nice. sorry i want good game play and good story to rule over good graphics.

    - does have nice graphics, controls leave a little to be desired.
    - 7.0 buy when it is cheap.

  • Anybody else having trouble getting Daedric stuff? I'm at level 56 now, have a chest full of ebony armor and weapons in my house, but no Daedric treasure yet and nothing for sale so far. WTF?

I haven't seen any, I'm a level 40. But one of my friends who plays on PC had a set and he was a level 37. So it is there, is all I'm saying, but where or how he got it, I don't know.

Do you do a lot of enchanting, alchemy, smithing, etc? Those are really easy ways to level up without spending tons of time. Personally I've completely ignored smithing and enchanting so my rise to level 28 took a lot of Two-Handed, Heavy Armor and Archery.

You get a few hearts from doing the Black Star quest. I did it a while ago so I forget how to start it, but I'm sure you can look it up.

Do you use a lot of different skills? If you're constantly switching armor types or between one-handed and two-handed weapons it could slow your progress. Especially compared to a character that concentrates on one thing. Once I got done experimenting and decided that sneaking/archery was my thing I started leveling a lot faster.

  • Already done with the game for a bit. Daedra armor came when I got my smithing high enough and the hearts start being sold as ingredients in shops. There are a few quests where you can get them, too.

  • I use mainly one handed because I like to be able to magic with the other hand. I don't switch up armor too often, but I try to be as balanced as possible.

I do a lot with alchemy because I think it's fun, but I haven't enchanted anything yet. I've broken enchantments so I could learn that enchantment, but you don't come across a lot of the soul gems that add 20% to the item you're enchanting, so it doesn't make it worth it for me. Although I suppose just enchanting weapons I wasn't going to use anyway would increase my enchanting and make extra gold for me.

Better yet, make your own weapons/armor then enchant them. Eventually you'll be able to smith some really cool things and then enchant them on top of it. My character wears and entire set that I smithed and enchanted myself.

I'm contemplating getting this game, maybe next year when the GOTY edition comes out. How does it compare to say Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas for those that have played both.

I enjoyed FO3 and havent beat new Vegas yet just cruising the wastes doing side missions mostly. I know Skyrim is made by the same people as FO3 is it similar in a lot of ways or way different?

I noticed something like this that I was rather annoyed about. As a Dark Elf, I have a passive racial ability that grants me 50 percent resistance to fire. I found a Necklace of Fire Abatement that offers 60 percent resistance to fire. Unfortunately, I was not immune to fire damage, as I had hoped I would be.

Additionally, as an Xbox 360 user, I have noticed no ill effects from the patches. I've had some mild freezing/ lagging issues, but nothing too unbearable, and that may have something to do with the fact that I have about 500 some odd saves in my file.

If I understand the bug correctly, that means that you actually have like 10% resistance to fire right now.

Still better stats than I had during my 22 days as a vampire...

BTW - I'm working for the next 16 days in Asia - approximately 10,000 miles from my XBox and Level 19 Nord. This thread (and the analagous one on the Blue Board) will have to hold me over until my return.

On PS3 I've gotten to a point in that quest where the Markath guards attack on sight and never give the option to surrender. Now the entire city is unplayable.

I haven't encountered any quest bugs yet, but I have fallen through the environment floor once. Luckily that doesn't kill you, it just restarts you at the begininng of the cave I was in. I have no idea what happens to your character if that happens out in the open.

I just kind of expect it when I buy a Bethesda game within the first few months of release. It comes with the territory when you have such a gigantic open world.

It's far more forgivable than say ... all the bullshit in NCAA12.

What? You don't like head to head games crashing with about 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter, or having guys in zone coverage stand and watch as a scambling QB runs right by them?

  • well i have learned something very important in this game. NEVER take a person from a town with you on a quest. One of the towns people came with me to kill the vampire (Laid to rest quest), and keeps picking fights with my companion, then my companion kills him and i get raped by guards when i try to finish the quest with the Jarl. So insanely frustrating.

Your average UofM fan and I have something in common, neither of us went to UofM. Though we do share One major difference, I got Accepted.

I thought about buying NCAA '12. I'm glad I didn't. That sounds even worse than not being able to run for more than 50 yards in a game in NCAA '11.

I gave up on helpers not long after I started. They were always a step behind, and on the off chance they were with you they'd rush into a fight before I was ready. Just not worth it... except for that quest where you get to sacrifice one of them to appease a god.
