    I read somewhere that GRRM directs one episode per season. I bet tonights is the episode. Last season's was The Pointy End, I think, which was one of the best of last season imo.

    Tonight is going to be the battle of the blackwater, which is a huge battle so I think your right, its going to be epic for sure.

    The dude head being obliterated by the falling rock, the hound slicing a guy in 2, Stannis slicing that's dude's brain in half, Tyrion cutting off a guys leg at the knee...and there was boobs! Best hour of tv in years!

  • After watching today's episode...

    Was that Loras who came busting through the door where Cersi was sitting with Tomen on the iron throne?

    Was that the Tywin Lanister army that came charging at Tyrion's men after they snuck through the tunnels to surprise Stannis? Did they kill Tyrion?

    I take it from next week's preview that Sansa didn't go with the Hound toward Winterfell.

    Yes it was Loras. No, that wasn't Tywin's army that charged him. When Tyrion said "Oh fuck" it was more of Stannis' men charging. Remember, Stannis had the #s advantage, and Kings Landing was overrun.

    Tywin's army then got to KL at the 11th hour, and they were the ones on the horses that came to save the rest of the Lannister army where Tyrion fell.

    I won't tell you what happens to Tyrion, for spoiler purposes. You are also correct, Sansa doesn't go with the Hound.

    Man, this battle scene was 10x better in the books.

    That also is not how Tyrion got injured.

    Man, this battle scene was 10x better in the books. That's not close to how the wildfire was used...they also forgot about the chains Tyrion used to trap the ships.

    That also is not how Tyrion got injured.

    Of course the battle scene was better in the books, but I still thought the show did a good job with it. They had a couple hundred dedicated pages to it in the book, I was very impressed that they essentially had a full 60 min episode dedicated to the battle. The lack of the chain was the only thing I was bummed about, but by essentially taking care of all the boats at once it made it more of a land battle than naval battle, which is cheaper for the TV producers to make.

    Obviously they weren't going to totally F up Peter Dinklage's face for the rest of the show. That scar seems legit.

    Uh, he definitely got sliced in the face by Ser Mandon Moore, if that's what you mean. He had a lot more injuries in the book, but that definitely happened.

  • The guy that tried to kill Tyrion in the battle, who was that? I just finished reading that part of the book and it sounded like it was one of the King's Guard, but the tv show didn't do a good job of getting that point across unless I missed something.
