Euro 2012 is over, the Olympics are coming up, World Cup qualifying continues and the transfer market is picking up. Will Man City repeat? Will Liverpool or Chelsea crack the top 4? Will West Ham stay up? Should be another great year for the beautiful game.

United and City will battle for the EPL crown again.
Real Madrid to end their Champions League voodoo.
Dortmund to surprise people and make the semis of UCL.
I like the AVB hiring at Spurs. If they keep Modric I put them in the top 4 with the previously mentioned sides.

Spurs fan but a relative soccer newb here. Should I be excited about AVB? Obviously he was a failure at Chelsea, but was that simply a bad fit?

Tough to say. AVB obviously had his locker room issues at the Bridge....I just hope the 'stink' of that issue doesn't follow him to the Lane. Good manager...obviously has talent. Let's hope he gets back to his old ways from his year at Porto(hoping that wasn't a one hit wonder).
I've already written Modric off...just want to get as much money asap and want it to happen asap so we can move on and work on quality signings with the $

Nobody cares about Olympic soccer. The sooner they drop it (and tennis, basketball, golf etc.) the better. If the Olympics aren't the top event in a sport then it shouldn't be there. And what's this "Spurs (Champions League qualifier)" you speak of?

yeah I am not quite sure what the point of olympic soccer is, if you can't use all of your players.

I'll be disappointed if Mexico doesn't make some noise in the Olympics. Peralta, Salcido, and Corona are the overage players, which is good, and it helps that Gio Dos Santos still qualifies as U-23.

It is basically the jr. national team. I think it is a good thing, getting the teams a good amount of time together helps to make them better in the following world cup cycles. They should cut out the overage players though.
I am interested in seeing what happens to Beckham after his temper tantrum the other night. Mr. tough guy would have been dropped in one punch if he actually got to the SJ keeper.

Yeah, David Bingham is such a baddass . Beckham just gets a one game bad for accumulated yellows.

I'm interested to see how Chelsea looks this year, and specifically who's going to step up in Drogba's absence (). Hopefully it will all come together and maybe Torres can get back to solid football.
