  • Yea...I know the fanbase is huge, but we (Americans) never hear anything about South American teams, so that's what I meant by small market. I was thoroughly confused because in FIFA 10, last FIFA game I bought before this year, I couldn't find Corinthians and thought the had disbanded. Glad to hear they're doing very well.

Are you also going to report about the Steve Nash trade to LA also? Seems like yesterday's news might be your thing.

I agree with your statement, the best players go to Europe. Those teams are far more valuable, from a monetary standpoint, than the top BR clubs. But a 30,000,000 strong fanbase boggles the mind, and they run second in BR to Flamengo

Corinthians has a very nice history in S.A., BR and internationally, they'll be around for a while.

Thanks for that statement RVP.....your transfer fee has now gone down immensely because everyone now knows you won't renew. Could have been an Arsenal legend but now just an injury prone guy with one superb season in 8 years (still love the guy till he officially leaves though).

I suspect most teams with deep pockets already knew RVP would be on the market. Let's just hope Arsenal can get a good transfer fee and maybe, MAYBE invest some of it.

Nasri was sold for 25 million pounds last year under similar circumstances (one year left on contract). Seems to me that RVP should draw at least that much given his performance last season.

I said in the Euro thread that we had the perfect situation. Another big controversy that proves the officials on the line aren't a good enough solution, to bring more pressure on the powers that be. And what made it perfect was that there was no injustice in the goal not being given because it was a play that should have clearly been blown dead for offsides anyway. Win-win. Controversy without any injustice.

For sure. The Ukraine probably don't qualify as one of his precious continental sides, but being against England, it had the same effect as if it had happened to Spain or Italy.

You need to learn about consistency. Outside of Germany and Spain, all those teams you list routinely lose to average and/or weak countries. England do not. We only lose to the best. In fact, we have a winning record against every team in the world except Brazil and Italy. Consistency you see. Take a look at the link below and scroll back from 2012, damn impressive, right? Now do the same for the other countries you listed... I know it hurts, but look at the results, not your silly mindless media .

Wait a minute...I thought only the World Cup mattered to the national team? How has England fared there? Consistency in friendlies now floats your boat? Come on man, show some CONSISTENCY in your arguments.

Again, they only go out to amazing teams, especially in regulation. E.g. Germany and Brazil shrug. Consistency you see. FYI, the Euros matter too, as do the qualifying games for both competitions.

Maybe you didn't check back to the previous page. Still waiting for explanation on this one:

Come again? You have a LOSING record against the US. 0-1-1.

Edit: Actually 0-2-2 if you count wars. If that's any indication, we can expect your soccer team to effectively join up as the reserves for the US team.

England's record against the US is Won 7, Drawn 1, Lost 2, with a +27 goal difference.

And the war just a bunch of Brits in one of our colonies fighting a bunch of Brits from back home. A British Civil War if you will.

There you go counting friendlies again. Thought those didn't matter?

Let's stick to World Cup meetings only. What is the record between the two nations in those contests?

Depends. Do we count that 1950s team of yours that was full of South Americans?

the problem for a lot of arsenal fans is that it feels as if it is a tale of two billionaires.....

one (kronke) who won't put his hands in his pockets..... the other (Usmanov) wants to put his money in his, but the board won't talk to him....

and then you have the fans in the middle.... who support the manager,.. and want to lash out... partly at RVP... mostly at the inept job it looks like Ivan Gazidis is doing.....

we just want someone at this point to be honest... if they are hoarding the money to pay off the stadium quicker... tell us!!, if the extent of the self sufficent model they want to run for 4th spot and got champions league football... tell us.... but at this point the board can't use the ambition word because it is BS!!! if they had ambition the likes of nasri and RVP wouldn't be leaving.... heck RVP didn't even get to the stage of possibly discussing a new contract.....

as usmanov said today "it's all well and good running the self sustain model, but if all you competitors arent... man city, chelsea, barcelona, real madrid, liverpool, man united.... then where is the level playing field...."

just really annoyed with the board right now and I know I am not the only one....

Seriously, how out of touch is he to include United in that list? Not self sustaining? The owners take hundreds of millions of pounds OUT, not put it in to the club.
