Just so you know what you're in for, here's a running diary I decided to make on a day I was tending my 1 year old (and this is just the morning few hours):
Emerson [the baby] just brought Hayden's smelly shoe to put on my lap. Just brought Hayden's other shoe. Added to the pile with her own shoes. Brought them all back after I threw them. Emerson just fell off the ottoman. Didn't seem to mind. Unplugged my computer. Stole Kaya's headphones. Now eating Kaya's headphones. Fell off the couch. Eating a flipflop. Getting into the cupboards again. Trying to drink the dish soap like a bottle. Hey! Stop that! Not good for you! Laughing at Kaya dancing around like a mad girl and crashing into the table. Fell off the couch again. Yelling and waving at Hayden when he walks out the room. Sneaks into Hayden's room and dumps his games all over (for about the 10th time). Climbs up onto a chair and then onto the table out on the deck. Luckily doesn't fall over the railing. Throwing flipflops into the plant. Wearing one flipflop on her hand and one on her foot. Seems very proud. Is splashing in the toilet. Tries to shut the door on me when I say, "Hey, stop that! and run to get her." Hum, one more hour til nap time.
