  • Post-Father's Day bump. How'd everyone do? I shot a 90 at Shepherd's Hollow. Dead even with the old man after 17 holes, then beat him with a birdie on 27! flex

  • Played in the member / guest this weekend. We won the gross championship at 2 under par.

Also won a shoot-out after the first round on Saturday. Made it to the last hole in a alternate shot format and my partner knocked it to 6 feet on the last hole (a par 3) after our opponent had put it about 12 feet away. Managed to side door the putt in front of a gallery of about 30 people including the club pro's and staff to pocket one grand. rockon

Second time out this year and shot 137. I improved 15 strokes from the first round of the year, so I was pretty happy.

I shot like a 140 first time out in almost a year. We should play with barkley.

  • Shot a 1 under 71 at Pheasant Run with a 3 under 33 on the front. Played the same course one week later (this past weekend) and shot an 89 with FIVE tee shots out of bounds on the front. I hate the golf gods sometimes and their ever-present desire for humility :-//

  • Hadn't been able to get out for almost two weeks and the first nine I played at The Emerald on Sunday showed that. I was a damn embarrassment, struggling to get ball up in the air much less where I wanted it to go. I said fuck it and started drinking at #6 and magically my game started to improve. I ended up posting a 42 on the back (with a chip-in birdie) after what must have been at least a 60 on the front. There were a handful of holes that I just stopped counting on.

Today I played the front of Akers East and shot a 44, which I was happy with considering the wind. I just finished up a twilight round at the Falcon. Shot a 39, could have been better because I lipped out two birdie putts, one from within 6 ft banghead. Nearly made it through the round without a double bogey too, which would have been a first.

So who's gonna organize tRCMB golf outing?

That would be a hell of a good time and I have to imagine course records would be falling left and right. The way tailgating is set up for the Boise game the timing would work out well. You could start at 9 am and everyone still time to make it to campus for the 3pm start to the debauchery.

I'm going to be in Michigan that week for my 1 week vacation. I actually already asked a few people if they want to go golfing that morning and then tailgate later. I'd be up for something like this.

I've never planned an outing but I know there is at least one poster here who has. I would be willing to do whatever I can to help out if there is enough interest.

Shot 89 at Shepherd's Hollow Saturday. Should have been alot lower. Screwed up 3 of the par 5's, didn't make a putt outside of 8 feet all day. 3 penalty strokes for unplayables.

  • 83 (44 / 39) yesterday.

Counted at the end of the round and I had 5 penalty strokes and 3 3-putts. I did get it going right at the end with Birdies on 15 and 17, and a lip out for Birdie on 18. Just really need to keep the ball in play and work on my lag putting.

  • Got my first eagle the other day en route to a 46. I've only been able to squeeze in nine holes at a time. My previous round was a 44, which was the first time I'd broken 50 in two years. So if I wanted to stretch the truth, I'd combine those two scores and say my first time breaking 100 I shot a 90.

That's impressive, driver, 3 wd, 5 iron, 10 foot putt?

91 at Miami Beach Golf Club. Tips. Gimme's within 2 feet or so. Fell apart on the back.

  • If i could chip and putt I would be so damn happy. I've only done 9 hole rounds this year and a couple scrambles 45-46-47 were my scores. I nailed a 355 yard drive to birdie a par 5 which felt really good but damn if I had a dollar for every putt that just missed. I should just add 2 strokes once I'm on the green within 30 feet because it is gut wrenching to miss so many putts.

  • I'm doing Eagle Eye in 2 weeks as my 2nd outing of the year...I shot a 100 on July 4th in NC with an assload of penalty strokes and OBs off the tee...if I kept it in play I would've been around a 90....please pray for me.

  • 79 at The Orchards up in Romeo (maybe it's Washington Twp at that point) this morning. Teed off at 8:45 and I can't remember being so thankful for wind on a golf course. The breeze made things manageable or it would have been way too hot to be out there today. A couple of the low spots in the trees were hot as balls as there was no air movement. 38-41-79. Ugly stretch from 7 through 12 as I played those 6 holes at 6 over after being 1 under through 6 (5 pars and a birdie to open the round).

By far the best round of the year. Seen more rounds in the 88-94 range this year than I'd like, but I also spent the last 6 weeks trying to correct an ugly duck hook. Seemed to straighten things out a little today and it made a big difference (obvious statement I know, more fairways usually means better numbers)

And if the good Lord’s willin’, I’m a keep on chillin’, refillin’ and flyin’ high

  • Played my first round in like a month. 46 at forest akers west. Going up to manistee this weekend, and hoping to get a couple rounds in.

  • Was up in the thumb yesterday for some family stuff. My brother and mom snuck away to get 9 in at Ubly Heights. I played terribly and shot a 54.

Played Groesbeck this morning. I was poised to beat my best round ever (89) after a birdie on 17. Put the 18th tee shot in the water an ended up with my only triple of the day to come in at 90 (47-43) upset.

Just got back from hacking up a twilight round at the Falcon with my brother (who is just learning to play). I started great, Par-Par and was standing over another short par putt on three. I missed it and I only got one decent look at a par the rest of the way. Ended up at 41 (10-over). That's not a terrible score for me on that course but after the way I started it was pretty disappointing.

  • Just shot a 94 (47/47) in Florida. Had a god damn quadruple, three doubles, and missed three birdie putts all within six feet.
