Hit Vail again on Saturday. Shitty drive up (2.5 hours) but it was actually pretty good snow. They reported 2" and 7" the day before, and we hit a couple of the back bowls and found a few fresh tracks and then good snow most of the day. Wanted to leave by 1ish to beat traffic but decided the snow was finally good for once and stayed a little longer. Made it home in 2 hours including stopping at Qdoba. Queso Steak burrito.

I had been meaning to post this photo. It was from Superbowl weekend, my buddy from MI (Spartan) and I were at Breck and we decided to take the singles line to get up to the top faster. He sat down and was riding the lift up with some random people or whatever, looks over and sees this (pic) on the chair. He said he wanted to take a picture but then said "nah, I'll get it next time" but then stopped and thought "what are the chances I'll get this exact same chair, ever again". Cool story, bro? Anyway, thought it was a pretty cool, completely random occurrence.

I'm a little more keen on Loveland, and much less so on Copper. But then again, I like steeper stuff.

Ski Green!

Did Brighton and Snowbird so far. Spring skiing conditions. Windy and snow expected today. Going to The Canyons this morning and hitting the fresh snow expected overnight at Alta tomorrow.
Anyone here been to Powder Mountain? Giving that a thought Thursday or Friday.

Home from Utah. Skied 7 straight days, the kids did 8. Did go to Powder Mountain twice and loved it. They got 4-7" of snow and nobody else got anything appreciable. Loved the terrain. Reminded me of Snowbasin before it was bought out by Sun Valley.

After the first day there the van mysteriously stops running on the way home and we get stranded near Huntsville. (I'll blame the solar flares.) Had to have it towed to Ogden and still had to get back to Park City that night. Fortunately they were able to fix it the following day and we left Saturday after skiing the Canyons without any issues. It was warm and the end of the week and downright hot at the Canyons. The place was a slush field before we left. Demoed some fat skies the last 2 days and I'm sold on them. Will have a new pair before I ski again.

Anyone doing Krazy Daze this weekend?

Bump again. First day at a-basin yesterday. Only 2 runs open and 15-20 minute lift line waits, but felt good to get out for the first time.

Son left this morning for 6 months at Big Sky.

Finalized all of my bookings a couple of weeks ago. Going to be in Park City last weekend in January. Never skied Utah before (been all over CO and been to Jackson Hole). Pretty excited about it.

Gotta do the PC side and hit up Canyons.

My son drove out to Big Sky last weekend for a 6 month stay.
They got over 60" last week.

Timing is everything.

Will visit at the end of January and pick up my new boards.

What are you riding this year? I just switched to the Blizzard 8.5 ti and they are super versatile.

BTW, one of the best if not the THE best online retailers anywhere is the old Keego Harbor, MI shop (can't remember the name) that has incredible inventory and prices: That's where I got the Blizzards.

Yeah, they have that slight double rocker and are really lightweight but good at speed. Had Volkl AC50s that were also stable but much heavier & harder to handle. My cousin has the Bushwackers (no metal) that are 88mm waist like your Kastles and a lot of fun. I tried them but I think yours are probably better all-around with metal. Too bad brands like Kastle and Blizzard are kind of hard to find in a lot of retail shops. Can't go wrong with Austrian skis/ /

Haven't gotten a chance to go ride this season. Colorado finally got some snow as of late. Maybe going to hit up Vail over New Year's.
