I live in CO and have a condo in Copper and have skiied them all many, many times.
I am not a fan of Breck. It is a very difficult mountan to get around and most of the runs funnel everyone in valley runs that get very crowded. I haven't skiied there in 10 years because thier are just a lot better options.
Copper is voted by the residents of Summit county as their favorite place to ski year in and year out. It is by far the best mountan in Summit. I also really like Beaver Creek and Vail in Eagle county but bring your Visa because everything is very expensive.
Keystone is pretty good, and Arapahoe basin is very different with beautifull scenery but is small.
For resorts close to Denver I would rank them as follows:
Vail Copper Beaver Creek Winter Park Keystone Arapahoe Basin Breck Loveland
Of course all of them are awesome compared to anything east of the Rockies

Hit Vail again on Saturday. Shitty drive up (2.5 hours) but it was actually pretty good snow. They reported 2" and 7" the day before, and we hit a couple of the back bowls and found a few fresh tracks and then good snow most of the day. Wanted to leave by 1ish to beat traffic but decided the snow was finally good for once and stayed a little longer. Made it home in 2 hours including stopping at Qdoba. Queso Steak burrito.
I had been meaning to post this photo. It was from Superbowl weekend, my buddy from MI (Spartan) and I were at Breck and we decided to take the singles line to get up to the top faster. He sat down and was riding the lift up with some random people or whatever, looks over and sees this (pic) on the chair. He said he wanted to take a picture but then said "nah, I'll get it next time" but then stopped and thought "what are the chances I'll get this exact same chair, ever again". Cool story, bro? Anyway, thought it was a pretty cool, completely random occurrence.
Edit: The photo will not post for some reason, link here: http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n409/whitesnakeMSU/100MEDIA36IMAG0047.jpg

I agree with most of what you said. I haven't been to winter park though ans have heard it is more of a skiers mountain with moguls everywhere.
Breck has good stuff if you know where to go, but you're right that it funnels into one area and gets very crowded. Cat walks are a bitch too. If im not mistaken, Breck is the busiest resort in NA and possibly the world. TONS of people.
So ... how about you let me rent your condo when you aren't using it? Spartan discount? I work M-F and usually only go up on the weekends and it sucks to drive 1.5 hours, ride for 4, then leave early to beat the traffic.

Headed to SLC a week from today. Plan to ski Alta, Snowbird and Solitude. Both Alta and Snowbird have had over 29" in the past few days with more to come. Shouldn't have to worry about any core shots this year and ski anywhere with all the snow they have been getting. Last year at this time it was tough skiing off piste compared to 2010. Have never been to Powder Mountain but would like to make it over there on this trip.

What are you riding this year? I just switched to the Blizzard 8.5 ti and they are super versatile.
BTW, one of the best if not the THE best online retailers anywhere is the old Keego Harbor, MI shop (can't remember the name) that has incredible inventory and prices: That's where I got the Blizzards.
