I started skiing when I was 3 and stopped around 16 when I quit skiing and snowboarded full time, did both from 12-16 years old. Now I'm 26.
I just accepted a job in Denver and I'll be moving out there in about 3 weeks, so I'll be riding a lot more. I'm excited but wish the timing would have worked out a little better as you can buy a season pass for under $600 out there. Depending on which one you choose...you can get the Epic Pass for like $600 that includes unlimited Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge, A-basin, and even Northstar and Heavenly (both in Tahoe). That price has now jumped up to $1900 for that pass though! You have to buy before mid-November to get the deal. It's completely worth it as long as you ride at least 6 days (for those that haven't been out there in a while....Vail costs $98 per day, BC is $99, and the others are around $92).
I'm riding a Lib Tech Banana Magic with Rome Targas this season. First time I've bought new gear since like 2002.
Sorry for the rambling....I love snowboarding and I'm glad someone started a thread like this.

I love Vail, it's a great mountain. You just have to know how to avoid the crowds. I could ski Moonlight Basin all day, every day the rest of my life. I don't have too much of a beef with the snowboarders, especially when they know what they're doing. The ones that get on slopes too steep and just plow all the snow of the run going down sideways are the ones that drive me nuts. I laugh at the whole "lifestyle" with it freezing out and they're going down slopes with their ski pants down below their ass but I did some pretty stupid stuff in college too.

I love both of them. I came from an old Ride All-Mountain deck, so I can't compare to a Skate Banana. I mostly freeride and I'm rarely in the park. I'd rather be ripping it up in the trees or powder and hitting natural features than in the park.
With that said... The board is incredible. I don't know if it's the magnetraction or the reverse camber design, but I can carve infinitely harder and faster than I could on my old board. It was like going from a Harley Davidson full dresser to a Ducati 1098.
Regarding the Targas: I went from a pair of Burton Cartels to these and I like these a lot better. Not that the cartels were bad, but these can be completely customized to your boot and riding style. It actually took me about an hour to set them up based on the directions given in the box. I have the "medium" ankle strap inserts in, but you can take those out for a very soft flex or add the "hard" flex insert in to get a very stiff binding. Only downside so far is that I keep hearing this clicking noise on when switching from toeside to heelside carves. I think I just need to adjust the high back so that it sits more flush into the heel basket.
Other than...the new setup is awesome. Can't wait to get out to CO to really ride it, as I've actually only ridden twice so far this and both times at Holly.

I'm mostly just goofing on both Vail and dirtbags, er, snowboarders. I lived in Aspen for 20 years, skied all over Colorado, and there is no doubt in my mind that Aspen (from Aspen Highlands to Snowmass) is by far the best set of mountains to ski in Colorado.
And snowboarders are just annoying. Only about .01% of the snowboarding population can actually carve both their front side and heel side turns. The rest are just out there sitting on their ass scrapping the snow off the hill.
